I've been craving this for awhile and this place definitely got 5 stars. The shrimps where big and fresh, the sauce amazing. Órdered some dim sum but the lobster sauce was my first choice and decided to finish it so I was too full for the dim sum.

Enjoying dim sum in Chicago's Chinatown was a great way for a family gathering or a good start to the day. Nice dining room and offers a variety of dim sum dishes. We enjoyed the shrimp crepe, bbq pork crepe, shrimp dumpling, chicken feet, turnip cake in xo sauce, pan fried turnip, spring rolls and Malaysian sponge cake. Paid parking... More

Excellent meal. Newly redecorated. No longer pushing the carts around. Bummer! Close to main entrance of Wentworth Ave. to the heart if Chicago's Chinatown.

When you walk in you will see that this place is very popular with the local Chinese people. There were many Chinese families here on Saturday morning. The dim sum was authentic, very tasty and inexpensive. It's hard to go wrong at about $4-$5 p plate order. We had ribs, pot stickers, shumai, shrimp roll and many other yummy plates.... More

We had guests in from out of town and they wanted Dim Sum, so - we made Sunday morning reservations at the Phoenix for a party of four at 10 am. 'am glad we made reservations, particularly as Sunday is a very busy day at the Phoenix. When we arrived the restaurant was already nearly full and a line was... More

We visited on an early Saturday evening and were seated by a window in the main dining room. Very attractive restaurant compared to others in Chinatown, brightly lit and rather modern. Clean restrooms too. Noise level was quite low. Fully stocked bar was available. Food and service left a lot to be desired. We ordered appetizers (pot stickers and crab... More

A family favorite -- even when our kids were very young, they enjoyed the variety of small plates (sauces on the side) as well as lots of attention from the servers. Food is always fresh. Dim sum is brought out on carts on weekends but on trips during the week we ordered from a menu (with pictures).

I went with a rather large group set aside from the main dining area. The service was great and the food was good which is saying something since I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food. My favorite thing was the ribs

This restaurant is in the Chinatown area of Chicago, south of downtown. It is accessible by EL train and in the summer by water. It is classic dim sum with many small plates available. The food is quite good. The restaurant mainly caters to Chinese which means that the food is authentic. There is a regular menu if you do... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown may be one of Chicago’s smallest neighborhoods geographically, but it's big on character, colors, sights, sounds, and flavors. In this South Side neighborhood, you’ll find authentic Chinese restaurants dotting the length of Wentworth Avenue. After a meal of dim sum, noodles, duck or other tantalizing food specialties, satiate your visual appetite with dozens of public art sculptures sprinkled throughout the neighborhood ranging from animal structures to pagodas, a tile mosaic, Chinatown Gate, and a Buddhist Temple.
