I went with a rather large group set aside from the main dining area. The service was great and the food was good which is saying something since I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food. My favorite thing was the ribs

This restaurant is in the Chinatown area of Chicago, south of downtown. It is accessible by EL train and in the summer by water. It is classic dim sum with many small plates available. The food is quite good. The restaurant mainly caters to Chinese which means that the food is authentic. There is a regular menu if you do... More

The dim sum does not disappoint. Many selections & all tasty. Dinner is just as delectable. Food is fresh & delicious. Nice presentation & good service. If having dim sum on the weekend, arrive early.

Came back for dim sum on Sunday and very disappointed. The food is not good as it used to be any more. Won't be back for sure!

The space has been renovated but the excellent dim sum remains the same. Have been dining with Phoenix since 2001; still my favorite dim sum place in Chicago.

This is a very good restaurant, but there are a few issues. First, you order off a menu instead of from the cart; I prefer the traditional method. Service was terribly slow both to take our order and then to deliver it. No one asked for our drink order. Quality of the food was very good and you were also... More

We used to go to Three Happiness, but since it is closed, we asked for a recommendation and were directed to Phoenix. Wonderful experience. We were sat right away on a Saturday afternoon at a table by the window with a great view of the skyline. The picture menu made it easy for my companions who were less familiar with... More

I had heard great things about this place but it didn't live up to its hype. First of all, the service was substandard. We had to aggressively seek a waiter (it seems no one was assigned to our table). a few times to get us drinks and order more. The sad thing is we noticed other tables were regularly attended... This is an update of my previous review. After the change in ownership, the number of dim sum items available has decreased considerably and one has to order from a menu. The quality has also deteriorated. This time we did not order dim sum. We ordered fresh bass served in two ways, as congee and steamed in black bean sauce.... More

Outstanding selection of dim sum at typically low prices. Clean and helpful staff. Located in Chinatown 2 blocks from the Red Line Chinatown stop.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown may be one of Chicago’s smallest neighborhoods geographically, but it's big on character, colors, sights, sounds, and flavors. In this South Side neighborhood, you’ll find authentic Chinese restaurants dotting the length of Wentworth Avenue. After a meal of dim sum, noodles, duck or other tantalizing food specialties, satiate your visual appetite with dozens of public art sculptures sprinkled throughout the neighborhood ranging from animal structures to pagodas, a tile mosaic, Chinatown Gate, and a Buddhist Temple.
