Service was great, food was great. My husband and I were visiting our oldest daughter and some friends in Chicago, and decided to go here for dinner, and we made a great choice. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our friend's daughter is allergic to peanuts, and they went through the menu with her and helped her choose and even double checked... More

I fell in love at Mon Ami Gabi... literally. When I first started dating my husband, we would walk around the corner from my condo and come here for lovely romantic dinners together. Fast forward more than a decade. We finally made it back with my boys, who are now 7 and 9. It was a Sunday night and boy... More

We were introduced to MAG by some local friends who lived in the neighborhood and we were intrigued because of the chance to sample French cuisine and also because it was not on the usual tourist radar. The restaurant is located in an old classic hotel and it feels old worldish rather than hipster as you enter, a nice thing.... More

There are so many great restaurants in the Windy City, but Mon Ami Gabi in the old Belden-Stratford hotel lobby is my favorite for so many reasons. The atmosphere is wonderful - elegant and yet comfortable. It's white-linen service that reeks of classic French ambiance. The waitstaff is skilled and at your service without being overbearing. They are exceptionally well-trained... More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the patio at Mon Ami Gabi with wine, soup (gazpacho and French onion are both great), dinner (steak frites, salmon and scallops were all fabulous), and dessert (a combination of the profiteroles and bananas foster crepes were insanely delicious). Service was excellent, we didn't feel rushed at all, and we had a meal and... More

This is a place you may only go once b/c it's a kinda pricey, but DELICIOUS and a great experience! They offer a brunch you don't see many places! They had Eggs Benedict in a couple of different ways, and I had the Bacon and asparagus quiche that had eggs that were so fluffy, when I cut it, it looked... More

First of all you get a real baguette or two dropped on your table before you even lift your water glass. The accompanying butter isn't d'Isigny, but it suffices. The wine selections are pretty good, including an outstanding Chateauneuf du Pape. The onion soup is hot and savory. My companions had steaks, perfectly cooked and by all accounts delicious. I... It was a beautiful evening. We had returned from spending the day at Navy Pier. We were all hungry and decided to go to Mon Ami and sit outside on the patio . I love their bread. They always have specialty cocktails and daily food specials. I ordered my favorite the Chicken Gran Mare It is fabulous and very filling... More

Description
Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.
