I had moderate to high expectations for rose Angelis, not least because it came through a personal recommendation and trip advisor comments were all very supportive. Ok so some positives first: 1. Our waiter was kind and considered. 2. The location is lovely. 3. The wine choice good - perhaps the best bit. 4. The "special of the day" mussel... More

We arrived a few minutes before the restaurant opened and waited outside. The restaurant opened promptly on time. Service was friendly and accommodating. We were having a business dinner and asked to have the music turned down which was promptly taken care of. We tried several dishes. I had the gnocchi in cream with bacon. It was a large dish... Rose Angeles is off the main streets, but well worth the hunt. They make their own pasta fresh daily and have both traditional and custom twists on Italian food. The portions are ample. The service is great. The prices reasonable. The wall paintings are a bit tacky, but who cares when the food is so good. I'll be back!

I voted on a repeat visit to La Scarola and Mike wanted to try something new for all of us. Rosa Angelis was terrific. From the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, great servers and the food was fantastic. Pop had the lasagna and it was HUGE and among the top 3 any of us have had, ever. A few... More

Rose Angelis is tucked away in a neighborhood near Lincoln Park. But don't worry, it's only a short walk off the main street. And well worth the walk! The restaurant has been incorporated into an old home. With the lounge up front...you walk through multiple dining areas as you walk to the back. It's very intimate and very unique. And... More

My wife and I went on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my birthday. We had a 7:00 reservation and it was not very crowded when we arrived. There is a patio, but despite it being end of June it was chilly so we opted to sit inside. Casual, but pleasant atmosphere, nice artwork. Our server was pleasant and very knowledgeable... More

Large menu, delicious food, impressive wine list. The food was excellent...and portions quite large(we all had take home boxes) We were stuffed, but had to share dessert & it was well worth it! Service was outstanding, cozy atmosphere(but not quite) & just a wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend!

Attended dinner with son and Bride and family members. Everyone enjoyed their food and wine selection. Was surprised they do not serve spaghetti. All meals were in large quantity.

Excellent food, top-notch service, and a cozy atmosphere that is straight out a movie. The movie is about this guy who wants to impress this girl by taking her to the most romantic restaurant he can think of. Naturally he pays for the whole meal because not only is it the gentlemanly thing to do, but because he knows the... More

Love it so much for family and friends that we also bring business clients visiting Chicago - tried other places and we keep coming back as still the best. Awesome fresh food, healthy sized portions and incredible desserts
