A friend in Chicago first ook us to this great restaurant in 2009 and we make it a point to return every time we visit. The atmosphere, food and service are always excellent and consistent. Sitting outdoors is always fun. It's intimate and feels like you're being served in your own backyard. There is nothing like this where we live... More

Yes, the portions are huge. You take it home and it, in my case, after ordering the Eggplant Parmesan, you eat it for a week :). Four of us for this visit; we know we're on borrowed time. I vowed to order things I'd never tried. That was actually difficult since this has been our go-to for truly great meals... More

My wife and I visited Rose Angelis for the second time last night. We went back because the first experience was very good. We booked a 7 pm reservation on the restaurant 's website. Easy peasy. Rose Angelis is a neighborhood restaurant, and from the front it looks quite small. It's actually much larger than it appears, and offers indoor... More

I had moderate to high expectations for rose Angelis, not least because it came through a personal recommendation and trip advisor comments were all very supportive. Ok so some positives first: 1. Our waiter was kind and considered. 2. The location is lovely. 3. The wine choice good - perhaps the best bit. 4. The "special of the day" mussel... More

We arrived a few minutes before the restaurant opened and waited outside. The restaurant opened promptly on time. Service was friendly and accommodating. We were having a business dinner and asked to have the music turned down which was promptly taken care of. We tried several dishes. I had the gnocchi in cream with bacon. It was a large dish... Rose Angeles is off the main streets, but well worth the hunt. They make their own pasta fresh daily and have both traditional and custom twists on Italian food. The portions are ample. The service is great. The prices reasonable. The wall paintings are a bit tacky, but who cares when the food is so good. I'll be back!

I voted on a repeat visit to La Scarola and Mike wanted to try something new for all of us. Rosa Angelis was terrific. From the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, great servers and the food was fantastic. Pop had the lasagna and it was HUGE and among the top 3 any of us have had, ever. A few... More

Rose Angelis is tucked away in a neighborhood near Lincoln Park. But don't worry, it's only a short walk off the main street. And well worth the walk! The restaurant has been incorporated into an old home. With the lounge up front...you walk through multiple dining areas as you walk to the back. It's very intimate and very unique. And... More

My wife and I went on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my birthday. We had a 7:00 reservation and it was not very crowded when we arrived. There is a patio, but despite it being end of June it was chilly so we opted to sit inside. Casual, but pleasant atmosphere, nice artwork. Our server was pleasant and very knowledgeable... More
