It is a food court, you get a card and can go around and order what you like. You pay with the card at the exit. It is very nice expecially if your party is in different moods for food: my daughter had salmon & soup, my husband a pasta dish, I had a chicken sandwich (unfortunately I didn't notice... More

This is a unique idea for a food court. The attendant hands you a charge card that you hand to your food server at any one of the food stations. A host will find a table for you and away you go. Pretty varied selection from soups and salads to full dinner plates. Typical food court only it was local... More

Great place to eat. Great selection of food. We had Chinese that was just average. The ambience is good thigh the food is on the expensive side. Overall nice place to relax and give your tired feet some rest as seating is good. Hoped that the food would match the ambience

This food court has something for everyone and anything you choose is good. A little pricey but totally worth the cost. A clean space, fast service, all around good experience.

I was going downtown to meet my friend who never showed up. We were supposed to meet at foodlife but since she didn't show up. I sat at the bar of the comfort station, i have to say, it was really comforting. The young man, Armand, who was at the station was really nice and welcoming. He had conversation with... More

Located in the lower level of the Water Tower Place, FoodLife is certainly not your usual fast service food place. You are seated and given a plastic card, which you take to various "stations" throughout the place, each specialize in a certain style/type of food. The station swipes the card, adding that particular dish to your order. Upon exiting, the... More

Our first trip to Chicago and right around the corner from our hotel, we discovered this place. What a novel idea! The convenience of multiple food options all in one place so everyone has an option. A little pricey for fast food but for the area, not too bad. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Very fun place to grab a bite to eat. You get a keycard and can go to any of the restaurants there and they swipe your card. They have salads, potatoes, asian, pizza, mac & cheese, etc. Can be dangerous when everything adds up, but if you are careful it's not too expensive. Pretty good food, too.

A great choice in Water Tower Place. Fresh food, reasonably priced and nicely displayed. Perfect for a quick lunch.

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
