The Oak Tree restaurant, food is always spot on, bakery is delicious, wait staff is very helpful and professional. They serve breakfast all day so if you are a late riser this works splendidly! The raisin bread toast is the bomb! Corned beef hash is very tasty, so were the eggs benny! The seats near the window are great for... More

I was here twice last weekend. Once for a breakfast with a colleague- great waitress ( full of personality as well as service) and a choice of great omelets and different kinds of waffles. Then I was there with a group from a wedding I was attending for lunch ( it was near our hotel so a handy place to... More

I have enjoyed this spot for years. Best gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches!!! I always bring out of town guests here- but it's also a favorite family spot for us. The views are great. The location too. Great for breakfast also.

We went her for coffee one day and for lunch another day. Both times the food was delicious! The homemade chicken soup with rice was phenomenal! Salad and sandwiches are fantastic and made to order with fresh, crisp ingredients. Waitress was pleasant and efficient. She was extremely kind to a complaining lady who was lunching alone. Obviously! Try it, you... More

My wife and I decided to try out the breakfast on Oak Tree Restaurant since it got good reviews. We ordered coffee and omelettes. The staff is friendly and service minded. Food is at first bit tasteless but after some salt and hot sauce a lot better. The worst part is the coffee. First, It does not taste much at... More

The food, service, and baked good selections made this place so awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a nice, fresh meal. The people behind the counter run it so efficiently that your order is taken, prepared and handed to you with a smile within minutes of walking to the counter.

I was told they had the best Ruben sandwiches, so I tried it. It was the worse Ruben I have ever had. For $15, don't waste your money. The corned beef was so fatty is was disgusting. Eat a Ruben elsewhere!!!!!

Eggs Benedict was delish and the environment is not noisy. Get a table looking down Michigan Avenue!

Great spot in the mall top floor, service was great but the best part is the bread they bake it there. Cinnamon raisin is my top choice huge slices and breakfast was just as good went a few times and everything we had was very good!

OK, so we are staying in Chicago on business, and decide to "eat out" for breakfast. The Oak Tree was suggested by our hotel concierge as it was in a great setting. We were seated (almost empty) then found the service appallingly slow by American standards. just before we had actually finished eating the bill was "dropped" onto the table... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
