Steaks were amazing yet not extremely great comparing to high class stake houses in the south. Yes, I am so biased whenever I am talking about steak or bbq. I believe south has better steak lol. But back to the review, steak was awesome here! But the seafood...now we are talking! So fresh and I could tell it was not... More

VIsited first for Brunch so impressed with welcoming friendly staff and well presented tasty food we booked a table for the evening. Good job we did as the place is extremely popular especially on a weekend. Excellent service and superb food, catering for all tastes. Not overly expensive. The avocado/ crab appetiser was large enough for a main meal if... More

There is lots of positive energy and hustle bustle in this charming traditional place. I had surf, my partner turf. We were both very happy! The waiter arrived and with much bravado displayed the many special fish available that evening. I began with some fabulous Delaware Bay oysters-very meaty- followed by sautéed soft shell crabs. I had potatoes and creamed... More

Excellent dinner. One of the best crab cakes I've ever had and I also got a steak which was excellent as well. We sat outside on the sidewalk and the table was a little wobbly.. But we shoved a couple of napkins under the table legs and it held up pretty well though dinner.

The food was excellent and the service average. I'm not sure if average service is everywhere in the restaurant, or maybe they put the tourists/non-regulars outside. it was loud, our table was barely big enough for the plates for 2 people, and we rubbed elbows with other people on either side. Yes, they seemed to still be crowded at 9:30,... More

The place next door is where we had planned to eat, however it was full and we went next door to this place and we were very glad. We sat at the bar and had a very good time talking to the other customers. The food was very good. I would go back again.

We had a really nice dinner while visiting Chicago. The food was delicious, staff was very attentive. The table felt a little crowded but we were seated by a window and the view was pretty. Desert was amazing, would definitely recommend a stop here!

We had reservations during the prime dinner hours and the restaurant was crowded. We were greeted and led to our table with no delay. All of the staff were friendly and seemed genuinely happy to have us. The menu is varied with both plenty of seafood and non-seafood options. Everything we ordered was very good. The crab bisque was delicious.... More

Fun place to have drinks and apps after shopping. Every day 3-6 they have $1 oysters and 1/2 off white wine. Keith, the bartender, is very personable and does a great job. Remembered us the next day when we came back a second time for drinks and apps. Several locals at the bar that we chatted with. Gibson's steak house... More

We go to this restaurant every time we go to Chicago. Love their frog's leg, crab cake and sea bass. Their dessert is huge...

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
