We ordered a crab cake and stone crab for appetizers. Very good crab cake. I had Maine Lobster stuffed with crab. Best stuffed lobster I have had ever. We ordered key lime pie and Creme brûlée for desert and both were good.

My husband and I recently had dinner at Hugos. We had a drink at the bar and the bartender was great. We made a reservation and everything was on time. Food was amazing and service was excellent.

Was in Chicago for pleasure and wanted to have dinner at Gibsons...unfortunatly they were booked and I remembered that Hugo's Frong Bar is their sister restaurant right next door with the same amazing steaks, sides and desserts....and outstanding seafood. We had an outstanding dinner for four that included oysters, steaks, salads, soups, and cocktails. The waitstaff has been perfectly trained... More

Went here after arriving in town Tuesday before Thanksgiving since it was close to our hotel and had favorable reviews. We were pleasantly surprised at the freshness & quality of the food - awesome clam chowder & crab cake as starters. Freshest sea scallops & perfectly prepared ahi tuna with great spicy crust as main courses. Will definitely return on... More

Had a late dinner before Second City with our adult children and spouses. Service was attentive and engaging. Food was so good! The crab legs melted in your mouth. The steak was perfect! The sea bass is really tender. Nice wine list. Definitely coming back

Its easy to walk by this place and think it is a pub or such by the name. But if you are looking for the freshest seafood, this is your destination. Pete took amazing care of us. From the crab bisque soup to the miso glazed seabass, everything is top drawer. Sides were lovely- I recommend the twice baked potatoes... More

Really wanted to love this place but was not taken... there are efforts made here to create a sort of old world fine dining experience but then the drop ceiling is the same cheap plastic found in most offices in America... it just feels that they've gone about 75% towards a special place. Food felt the same way. This place... More

Went here based on my TripAdvisor search. Very nice Chicago type feel similar to Shaw's Crab House, but a bit more intimate. I had the best crab cake ever for an appetizer followed by a great piece of grouper for main course. Server was very helpful with lots of suggestions and always there when needed. The deserts are huge, almost... More

I love a restaurant that dresses a table with a white table cloth and the waiters are dressed a la French Bistro style. Yes, all the way from California and this is my fourth time for lunch. I just love it.The ambiance and seafood are very good and I will be back !

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
