We ordeered Crabcakes for appetizer and they were very good with large chunks of crab and very little breading(almost none) We had thier Garbage salad that was excellant with all kinds of items in it and tons of flavor. Our meal was a great steak, a bone in filet, as this is a sister restaurant of Gibsons. Reservations will help... More

My girlfriends and I picked this restaurant on a whim. We wanted seafood and something close to our hotel, and they also offered a Gluten Free menu for some others in our party. What they don't tell you on the website is that it is considered as fine dining and inside of a casino. As soon as we walked through... More

Hugo is definitely one of our favourites, very popular, club-ish, cozy atmosphere. Fresh fish is the best here, paired with oysters. The service is fast, polite, helpful. The portions are huge so watch out when ordering, most especially as they offer salad or soup on the house.... This is a place to come back to every time in town.

We could not have table at Gibson so we were invited to this restaurant by same owners. Best of the best in steaks and the whole menu. Desserts my favorites.

My wife and I attended Hugo's on Rush last night for dinner. Great location in a nice area of Chicago. The place was very crowded. Both the bar and the dining room so it was noisy but a great vibe in the place. Even with The large crowd we were seated right on time and the service was great. The... More

Came to Hugo's following my fellow workers recommendations and glad to say it didnt dissapoint! Perfect setting downtown, the waiters were very punctual, pleasant and knowledgable and also very accomodating to other peoples requirements ie grilled salmon was amazing! I personally went for the steak which was cooked to perfection and an excellent cut! Might be hard to get a... More

Giving 3 stars for the quality of the service, which was quite good, but had that not bee the case I'd give the meal I had 2 stars. Not so much that it wasn't decent, but that is all it was. On my first trip to Chicago, so I asked around for things to do on my free time. One... More

We stopped in because our game was on. We had the lobster and the Sea of Cortez shrimp. The beers were ice cold the food was fantastic and the waiters were right on cue. They have a dynamic menu with oysters, frog legs, mussels and clams. If you are here for a visit be sure to stop in. The area... More

Love coming to Chicago and enjoying either Gibson's, for steak, or Hugo's, for fish. Tonight we had fish and our sons had steak. Everyone had an outstanding meal. The server Alyssa was excellent and a visit from the manager, John Dooley, was like frosting on the cake. All in all the dinner was first class. And we will continue returning... More

Before my six year old daughter and I returned to NYC, we agreed to dine at Hugo's for brunch. We were greeted, seated and treated with the utmost respect by "The Flower-Man" as my daughter calls him. We were welcomed by what seemed to be his warm and attentive staff. On this busy Sunday morning, the drinks were refreshing and... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
