Very nice location on mag mile but was a bit difficult to find the entrance in the building. We were promptly seated and the dining room is quite beautiful with large windows and a nice view. As a frequent diner in NYC and having sampled many tasting menus we found Spiaggia to have a good, well balanced tasting menu but... More

This is an awful restaurant. Firstly it is situate up an escalator in an office block so getting there bestows no atmosphere or ambiance whatsoever. It is billed as having beautiful views over Lake Michigan. Perhaps in the winter you might see the lake but with the summer foliage it is completely obscured and as it is on a road... More

We stayed at the Drake Hotel, and wanted to dine someplace close to the hotel. We found Spiaggia, and are very thankful that we did. We went with the Frutti de Mare for an appetizer, and it was fantastic. I was thinking about getting a soup, by my wife talked me into sharing this dish, and I am thankful that... More

Wow! Amazing, nice, charming welcome! Table on the street, little word and sparkling wine offered by the house when we mentioned we were celebrating our 25 th anniversary. Delicious, tasteful and well presented food. Wine list is amazing! Albeit expensive, this high class restaurant deserves its reputation and is worth to try for those who want to discover new Italian... More

This restaurant had been recommended by friends. It's in a lovely location right on Michigan and Lake Shore. BUT, it was the most disappointing experience we had in Chicago. The prices were absolutely outrageous, the portions bite sized and the wine the most expensive I have seen in a long time. Pushy waiters. Obviously an expense account place. Go at... More

Horrified by dinner last night at Spiaggia. Shocked by the unconscionable bill for almost nothing to eat, most of it undistinguished in flavor and presentation. The asparagus appetizer consisted of 4 skinny barely visible spears with pink mayonnaise like sauce. The gnocchi was fairly good but again a micro portion. The risotto was truly awful tasting and had a strange... More

Nice and classy. Advertised as italian... Small plates, limited choices, 5oz rib eye very good but still hungry. Limited to one dinner roll. Sorbet trio good. Asparagus salad..3 stems...cost $15. Not worth the expensive tab.

Spiaggia means "beach" -- it's not on one, but it's close, to Oak St. Beach. It's bright and cheerful, as are the wait staff. The pasta is outstanding, original without being weird. I lived in Italy for over 5 years so consider myself a good judge of pasta, and my two dinner mates shared 6 different plates of pasta, each... More

This is a marvelous place for a memorable dinner. We had the tasting dinner and corresponding wines. The attentive and knowledgeable staff was delightful. The courses were explained, presentation wasps beautiful , and wait staff attentive but not obtrusive. Every course was delight. Expensive, but you will not feel cheated despite the price tag.
