My childhood friend fav place to go. I enjoyed the jibarito and also had their beef stew with potatoes over rice. She passed away now but I will continue to come back. Thanks for the memories

So, La Bomba was a random find but it was delicious and as Jersey Ricans, we had nothing but praise to find this hidden gem by the apartment we were staying at. We ate here twice and try multiple items on the menu. The place...is always packed which indicates it’s a hit among its locals. We would def revisit if ever in Chicago ago!More

I call this guilty pleasures food since it's fried food but since it is close by my commute going home I have had a craving for Puerto Rican Food. I should take my time to dine in but this review is the quality of the...food for carry out. They are decent or good. I would not say they are the best nor would I say they are the worst. I usually carry out either the Papa Rellena (Deep Fried Potato Balls with a variety of meat,Usually ground beef or chicken) or the Moriclla (A Puerto Rican version of blood sausage.) I used to like their Papa Rellena until I discovered a better place that has them but they cooked them too slow and it takes long. They are still good out of convenience when I have no other choice. I compare this to another old Puerto Rican Resturant called "Sabor Latino" on North Ave and Hamlin St in Chicago,IL which is about the same quality wise if your looking for decent Puerto Rican cuisine.More

While in the Tundra of Minnesota, any chance to drive to Chicago and find good PR food is not to be wasted. I had to travel to the outside of Chicago, about an hours drive out of the city and after my business was completed,...I headed to the La Bomba. The one thing I just hate about this place they have soooo much great PR food you cannot have it all in one day. You just need to keep on coming back and trying something new. They have take out and they have sit down, your choice - regardless the food is DA BOMB. I just never can have enough of this place.More

I have been going to La Bomba for over 10 years. The only food close to moms cooking. I just have not found another place like it. I've been to all the neighborhood restaurants, and they just don't compare. I often regret trying any new...places, because disappointment is usually the result. Only drawback, maybe the decor is a little dark, and he really could use a larger dinning area. But otherwise, no complaints ever. Great dine in, take out. They also cater as well. Keep up the great job La Bomba, because I wouldn't change the food or recipes at all.More

Very excellent prices and great food, you will get extremely full for under $12. I had the Lechon Asado. Service was awesome, nearly every worker I saw walking through the dining area asked if I was ok. Was greeted coming in and out. Will definitely...come again and try something esle.More

If you are craving Puerto Rican food, this is the place to go in Chicago. I found it by accident, once I visited their food truck in Humboldt Park. I enjoy their background music in the restaurant and their Alcapurrias are my favorite. Their Morcilla...is so tasty and fresh. I have tried something different each time and I haven't been disappointed yet. This last time I tried their Sopa de Salchichon and my aunt tried their Sopa de Pollo con fideos. BOTH SO GOOD. My daughter always has Jibarito con Lechon y Arroz con Gandules. They have great seafood too! Like I said their food is really good. I wish management would train their servers better. They are all wonderful people, but they don't know how to serve. The first time I went there, I was embarrassed because the man who asked how many were in my party and then asked me follow him in, well, he turned the corner and here I was following him, he turns around and says what do I want, why was I following him? He then points to a table at the end of the room. I guess I missed his signal when he just pointed to the table for us BEFORE he had turned the corner. He should have walked us to the table NOT point to where we were to sit. This last time I went, we didn't have any silverware nor small plates for our appetizers, which is not too bad for eating alcapurrias, but we did feel uncomfortable having to put our food down on napkins. We had ordered soup and when that came, we just sat there, and the girl is asking what is wrong, "we don't have any spoons" I said, "oh, that would help" she says. Then we kept waiting for her to come back, she never did, so I got up and walked over to a corner where the Styrofoam cups and take out containers are kept and I helped myself so we can take our leftovers and if I already didn't know that we just have to walk up to the counter to get our check and pay our bill, I would still be sitting there. It would also be nice to know ahead of time that this place is BYOB. This food would go great with a nice cold beer! PLEASE, PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE.More
