Great little place with delicious food and huge portions. Lovely outdoor seating patio in the back. Great vegetarian and vegan options. Absolutely delicious!

Had dinner in the backyard when visiting Chicago. Scenic place. The food came in large portions and we found the amount of cheese too overwhelming in the otherwise fine dishes. Pity! But the veggies - especially in our side dishes (green beans in soy sauce and garlicy sauteed spinach) were fantastic! We did not have any beers/alcoholic drinks (they do... More

I ordered the Handlebar Omelet. The smoked gouda was good, but the pears were not...I ate around them. The breakfast potatoes were very, very dry and bland - no seasoning, no onions, nothing. Disappointing. My friend had the Everything Green salad, which she said was pretty good. Not worth a return visit.

My partner and I spent a week in Chicago the early part of May. An Uber driver told us about this place. Raved about the vegan comfort food. We like to try new things so we went for dinner. Its a bar with plenty of seating. We went for dinner so it was very dark. Our server took our drink... More

My husband and I were on a quick trip to Chicago and were looking for vegan dining options. We found the Handlebar and ended making two trips to this spot in 36 hours. Delicious food, great vibe. Also, one of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had. Worth the trip.

Because my daughter and son-in-law live in Chicago, I have reason to travel there often enough. We have dined in many of the city's restaurants, everything from ribs downtown to gourmet raw. A few places have become staples, one being the Handlebar. For anyone who knows Chicago, you know there is an active bicycle culture. While the Handlebar doesn't cater... More

This is cozy little restaurant with a small bar, a focus on healthy/veggie and some vegan options, with a great beer list... but THE PATIO RULES. Tucked away between storefronts and alongside other yards for homes and businesses, it's peaceful and a nice outdoor spot.

This place is so cool! The staff there is amazing and so helpful if you have any questions about the menu. I am not a vegan but I got a delicious sandwich here complete with faux meat. The drinks were great and so was everything else. I would defintely go back here.
