About
Club Lucky features the hearty pastas, fresh seafood and classic dishes of Southern Italy, and Sicily; not forgetting to mention Chicago classics such as Chicken Vesuvio. Our house specialties range from daily handmade stuffed pastas to perfectly grilled steaks & chops. A mainstay in the Bucktown/Wicker Park area for over 20 years, upon entering you find brick walls, formica tables, and oversized Naugahyde booths that provide a genuine design element to complement “grandmother's recipes” on the Italian menu. All sauces & pastas are made on-site, and each recipe is made with what the Owners call “a little bit of love.” Some of the most sought-after dishes are the Lamb Chops, Antipasti Platters and Spinach Lasagna. Desserts are all housemade as well, with the profiteroles being the most popular. Our atmosphere is casual, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Club Lucky is perfect for a romantic date night or a large gathering of friends and family. Good Food and Fun!

My wife and I have been going to Club Lucky since our first date on Halloween of 2009, and we've been back many times since, including every year to celebrate the anniversary of that first date. I'm vegetarian, and there are plenty of different vegetarian options here, including the Homemade Lasagna (cheese, or Bolognese). This is one of my favorite Italian dishes, but cheese lasagna can be tough to find on a lot of Italian restaurant menus these days. We've tried pretty much everything on the menu, and it's been mostly excellent, but some of our favorites include, the Stuffed Artichoke, Baked Little Neck Clams, Mozzarella Fritti, Traditional Pasta Squares, Linguini with Fresh Manila Clams, Homemade 8 Finger Cavatelli. The service is always excellent. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the support staff is always quick to take finished plates away, fill up water glasses, and keep the table clean. The restaurant is not a huge space, so it's not always easy to walk in and get a table, especially on the weekend. Summer does get a bit easier, when it's warm enough for their outdoor seating, but reservations are the best bet. Club Lucky is located in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood (literally, surrounded by houses), which is a really hip, fun part of Chicago and very walkable. Because it's part of a neighborhood, it can definitely be tricky to park. Some of the closest street parking is zoned for residents, but there's meter parking a block or two west, closer to Damen, or just a couple of blocks to the south on North Avenue. As an alternative to fighting for a spot, the restaurant does have valet parking. This place serves classic Italian food, and has remained consistently good over the years. They have tons of options on the menu, great service, and a really cool atmosphere. Club Lucky is an excellent spot for a date, a meal with friends, or even Sunday family dinner.

Wonderful neighborhood old school Italian. It was our first time at Club Lucky, but it definitely won't be our last. Great service by Eugene (Geno) as we named him :). The food was outstanding and we had a beautiful bottle of Italian Red wine to compliment our entrees. Desserts were a wonderful way to end the meal. I highly recommend Club Lucky.

We were here by suggestion, but the homemade pastas made it all worthwhile. Good cocktails and good salad. The house dressing is so good that we bought a bottle to take home. Our dinner choices included fusiili Bolognese, veal marsala and traditional homemade pasta squares with meatballs. All were wonderful. Leave room for the homemade tiramisu.

We decided to have dinner here as we were looking for a place to have a private party. We attended one here years ago and it was great, so we wanted to see if it was still good. Spoiler alert - it's not. The martinis were delicious - everything else was kind of bland and unexceptional. We had calamari, one veal dish, one chicken dish, one pasta dish and a salad and none of us liked anything enough to finish it. Servings are very large, and I will say the chicken was much better as leftovers. I think they are cashing in on nostalgia, because this place really was excellent in the 90s. If people are willing to to still come for that, good for them, but we will not be returning.

Food is good solid italian american. Big portions. Lots of calories. No diet options here. I had calamari (big and tender) chicken vesuvio (bony, not much meat). Superior bread. Decent wine. Dark dining room. Very difficult if you are over 50 and wearing glasses. Unpleasant reading a menu with a flashlight. Only that would prevent me from returning.

This place was fine. A bit pricey and not quite as full of ambience as I’d hoped based on some of what was written online. The stuffed artichoke was sub-par- they should pull in from the menu. The homemade pasta was authentic and paired really nicely with the meatballs. Bread was good. My boys ordered soft drinks- not sure if they charge for refills, but refills were never even offered. This isn’t a must-go recommendation for me.

We decided to try this restaurant upon recommendation from a good friend who has lived in Chicago his entire life. We are so glad we did! You do need a reservation, as this place is quite small and fills up quickly. I had the Chicken Vesuvio, and my wife had the Chicken Francese. Absolutely excellent! Prices were also in line and reasonable. The only con is that it's very noisy in the dining room, and you have to shout at each other to hear your conversation. That wouldn't keep me from returning, but it is something to note. Many restaurants in the city are like this, so it's just something you have to keep in mind.

This was a former family favorite . Since our last visit, more than 5 years ago we found our experience wanting. Cocktails are still decent but all of the food offerings our party of 6 ordered including appetizers and entrees were such that everyone said the meal was terrible and they would never dine there again. Service from Ramon A , was very professional. The physical premises have always been somewhat run down charming and the large restaurant was packed and noisy.

We ate here on a Sunday evening. Had 5:30 reservations. I recommend calling to reserve. By the time our food arrived, the place was packed. I had eggplant parmigiana, club lucky salad, homemade bread. Others had meat lasagna, meatballs with pasta squares. We shared tiramisu for dessert. All made in-house. All delicious! I also had a glass of Merlot. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.

We had reservations on a Tuesday night. It was busy, but not too busy. We would have liked to eat outside, but it had just finished raining so it was wet. Our food and service was very good. A party near us was celebrating birthdays. Cozy atmosphere with very good Italian food. I recommend a visit for those special occasions.

This place has the best drink menu I have seen so far. I got The Bogart, it is amazing. A lot of throwback old fashioned drinks and they are sooo good. Very nice atmosphere, I was on a tour and I have to say for the amount of people we had the servers and bartenders were amazing at getting us settled quickly.

Dont get me wrong! Food was delicious, it is an amassing kitchen! The thing is that the waitress that took our table, first, she complains about my accent! She trued not tu understand me wile I was asking for a delirium tremens beer, but with that service, really won’t be getting back! Servers were taking plates very quickly, and not asking if they could! And after dinner, the waitress again just went to the table and left the check at the table rushing us out the restaurant! Seriously, this is no way to treat the people that is using your service and restaurant, and believe me is not a cheap restaurant, for having that typo of service! Thank you and hope you get a better treatment than y had!

This place is ordinary---not worth driving west of Halsted St. It was far better in the 90's----guess success can spoil the food. The Lasagna was below par. The Calamari too chewy. The bread was probably from yesterday. The Linguini with white clam sauce was totally average. These reasons might explain the empty tables at Dinner time.

A great local Italian restaurant, with a good bar, terrific service, a good room, all that and good vibes too. I truly enjoyed my meal, my wine and the dessert but everybody’s meals look yummy.
