We went prior to a concert at the United Center. Very convenient Uber ride from there. I loved my fettuccini with mushrooms. Very neighbohoodish with what looked like a lot of locals. Definitely would recommend.

We had dinner at Francesca's on Saturday evening, the food and service were terrific. We started with Calamari, which my son, a big fan of Calamari, said was the best ever--and no one disagreed. I had Polo Roma, he and our friend each had fettucine...More

The restaurant is nicely done with windows facing the streets on two sides. NIce feel. The food was cooked perfectly and presented by a delightful waiter, Dillon. The Beef Carpaccio was done differently than I'm used to with a lot of tomato spread on it...More

Yummy food, just like the little Italian restaurants when growing up. Say what?! Yes, fresh food, yummy tomatoes, not green. Calamari with marinara- used the bread to sop up the leftover. Never thought of asparagus and blue cheese - heavenly. Enough pasta to have a...More

My two sons had a rare special alone dinner and the atmosphere and food were outstanding. The Tuesday crowd appeared larger than normal as our waitress was clearly slammed, but another did show up to help, but we were in conversation mode, so no problem....More

Everything we had was delicious! I asked if it would be possible to have a dish made that wasn't on the menu - and they did it for me. How cool is that? It wasn't a complicated request - but i really appreciated it. Our...More

This is a wonderful Italian spot on Taylor (close to Rush Medical Center if you are in Chicago for that). Our dinner was fantastic but what sets this apart was the truly great and friendly service. Make this a priority!

Francesca's on Taylor features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Chicago Magazine notes, "It brings a new kind of abbondanza to an old Italian neighborhood." It is the fourth restaurant opened by Chef Scott Harris, whose philosophy is to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, good, rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices. Anne Spiselman of Crain's Chicago Business observes: "A rolled-mesh ceiling, warm woods and geometric light fixtures give the room a rather clubby look, brightened during the day by light coming through the windows facing the street. And, Francesca's on Taylor takes reservations. "No, it does more; it honors reservations. Twice I made reservations, twice I walked into a packed dining room, and twice I was seated within 10 minutes," notes respected Chicago Tribune food critic Phil Vettel who claims this to be his favorite Francesca restaurant.
