Our family is of American Syrian descent so we're very used to Middle Eastern Food and cook it regularly. The appetizers at Sayat were a 7 out of 10, but in fairness, each region in the Middle East flavors things a little differently and we're...More

I enjoyed a mixed vegetarian appetizer plate. It was served with warm pita. That alone, was so very satisfying. To top it off, I enjoyed a portion of Paklava for dessert. I stand by my five stars, yet there was one disturbing element to the...More

I frequented this restaurant when I lived in Chicago in the 90’s and stop in whenever I’m back in town. Always a great meal. We especially enjoy the Cheese and Spinach Bourek and the Lahmajoun.

Decided to try Armenian food, which overlaps greatly with Middle Eastern cuisine. Ordered a trio of appetizers, Hommos, (hummus), baba ghannouj (eggplant dip), yalanchi sarmi (vegetarian grape leaves stuffed with rice, white raisins, almonds, onions and tomatoes). Each were tasty and subdued in flavor. Red...More

I have been going to this restaurant for years. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is super cozy and quiet. You can almost always get a table without waiting which is unusual near the Mag Mile. The menu does not change a lot so...More

My daughter had previously eaten here when traveling with a school group. It was a nice change from the typical establishments. Low key, good food, comfortable atmosphere.

Place has been on the Gold Coast neighborhood in Chicago forever. Smaller, cozy, intimate restaurant serving Armenian food which is similar to Middle Eastern cuisine. Food is very good and features various types of Kebobs and of course lamb dishes cooked to perfection. Service wasattentive...More

Description
Located just steps from Michigan Avenue in the heart of Chicago's thriving Streeterville neighborhood, Sayat Nova is a cozy, romantic enclave tucked back from the city's urban sprawl. Since 1970, we have offered Armenian cuisine that presents a slightly earthier variation on typical Mediterranean fare.
