I had eaten at neighboring sister restaurant a few times in the past and remembered it to be excellent. After some drinks we decided on a whim to try for a table Topolobampo. They were full. Frontera however did have open tables. I had wanted to try here for some time based on reviews and good meals at the sister... More

Heard this eatery was the tops and after eating here must agree. The Cerviche Trio was fantastic. Our server was very good and guided us through the menu as well as advising us on Tequila. If in Chicago a must visit.

We made it! After years of talking about it we walked in around 6 on a very hot Saturday afternoon. It was more casual then expected and we waited about an hour for a table. While waiting we enjoyed fresh chips with the three chile and roasted tomatillo salsas, a delicious Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche Verde with a Homemade Gin... More

This was the first, and maybe it doesn't get the attention from the top it deserves any more. Bayless's newer restaurants were booked months in advance, but we were able to get one for this one a month ahead of time. Service was great. The margaritas were good, definitely strong, but very pricey. For appetizers we ordered several of the... More

Frontera has been on our bucket list for years, but we could never get in. Had a late lunch and so glad we finally ate here. Our server was excellent in guiding us through the menu, and we appreciated his honesty when he said not to get a particular dish. Cerviche trio was outstanding as was the mole trio. We... More

When out of town visitors ask me about what my favorite restaurant is, if you're from Chicago you know this is a difficult question to answer. However, Frontera is still at the top of my list. The drinks remain top notch. The food is consistently so good. Some places lose their shine after years of service, but not Frontera, or... More

Group of 3 of us tried this place on a Thursday night about 7:00. When we checked in with the hostess we were told that it would be about a 45 minute wait but we were free to grab any black topped table in the bar area. After about 5 minutes I walked outside for some fresh air and noticed... More

We were immediately surprised at how casual this restaurant was. I guess we were expecting a bit more "trend". There was one small bathroom, and no one was really dressed up, or even dressed for a Saturday night. People were in shorts and t's. That's fine, but I guess we just didn't expect this. We sat on the patio, at... More

This restaurant had the most authentic and best Mexican food I ever tasted! It is really hard to get a reservation for Frontera Grill so we were quite lucky to have one 7 on a Thursday night. Our waiter was really nice and helped explain the menu to us. We had the guacamole and it was the best I ever... More

This was a place that we've wanted to dine at for years, and we are so glad we did! We loved all the food and also the servers were very attentive. When I wasn't happy with my fish (it was just too spicy) the waitress promptly went to the kitchen and the manager brought me a different dish at my... More
