My family and I stayed at Hotel Monaco for a week this summer while visiting my sister in Chicago. On our first night, we stopped in here for some appetizers and drinks before heading out for a sunset cruise! Our waitor, Jack (also my sons name!) was great! He was very attentive, pleasant and answered many questions we had! We... More

The restaurant is open and loud. The service was good as was the food, not great. It is probably a better bar than place to eat. It is close to the river and in the middle of downtown.

Researched the restaurant before we arrived to the city. Looked forward to the bread pudding dessert and dinner was amazing too! The service was quite attentive and just right. Was such a close walk to the Chicago Theater which is what brought us to the city. I had the salmon with black rice. This was the most amazing dish! Layer... More

Thank you so much for your review Trisha! I'm so happy to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your time with us. I'm also glad that you fully experienced the black rice in the salmon dish. Its so rich and flavorful and I feel it gets skipped over at times. And we don't have a "smoking room" (thank god)... More

We stopped in this past Saturday. The staff got us seated quickly and our server did not waste any time coming to our table. They had a mimosa special for $5, so, of coarse we had to order one (or two). I ordered bacon eggs and breakfast potatoes which were all cooked perfectly. My fiancé ordered a breakfast burger which... More

South Water never disappoints! The server was friendly, attentive, and timely. The wine selection and Monday night special was phenomenal. Dinner exceeded my expectations and dessert was out of this world.

We came here for breakfast, servings were huge and pretty reasonably priced. Service was awesome. My husband had the buttermilk pancakes, they were so light and fluffy, and the portion so big that he struggled to finish! I had the quinoa breakfast bowl with eggs, turkey sausage, spinach and tomatoes with chilli oil. So good!

It was delicious. We went for Brunch and it was very filling and relaxed. Our service was great. We had the sausage burger and eggs Benedict. I should have gone back the second morning to try the french toast! Great bloody mary too.

I was with a coworker in Downtown trying to find a place to dine, but everything was full. We stumble here by chance and at first I was a little worried because it was half empty. But then it turned out it was better (we didn't want to wait for a table). First, our waiter was fabulous. Can't remember his... More

We have eaten here before and my daughter liked it so much we are here again. The food is good and simple. She had short ribs and I had a flatbread appetizer. The short ribs were excellent as were the tiny mushrooms and polenta. My flatbread was ok but nothing to write home about. I had a lovely glass of... More
