Immediately at the door you are welcomed by a friendly host who shows you to your table. He whisks you by so quickly you almost miss the gigantic orb of white daisies which add texture to the stylish simplicity of the restaurant. The server greets you soon after presenting you with a wine list. He will point you in the... More

Booked for a late dinner last week, I had dined here with friends a couple of times before at lunch but never for dinner, my husband and I decided to have a date night and chose this place because of its reviews and my past experiences, the service was awful, cold and just down right rude, the matre d, looked... We had an uneven dinner at Blackbird. Some dishes were fantastic, and others tried too hard and missed. The endive salad with egg in a potato shell was wonderful, even without the pancetta (as requested.) The sashimi type appetizer (I forget what fish it was) was just OK. The halibut with sauerkraut was overpowered by the bitterness of the sauerkraut,... More

Based on past reviews, we decided to try Blackbird. It was a very good meal with interesting dishes. The ingredients were very fresh and the flavors were inventive. The noise level was a little high so that it was hard to hear across the small table. We felt a little rushed. Each course came quickly without time to just relax... More

Being a highly awarded and recognized restaurant in Chicago, our expectations of Blackbird were very high. Unfortunately the overall experience didn't meet our high hopes for this establishment and we left feeling disappointed. We even had to order room service when we got back to our hotel to feel like we ate something substantial. Visiting on the Memorial Day long... More

The food here is very good indeed. The roasted veal sweet breads and the duck breast both had an excellent crust on them. The mise en bouche was probably the least exciting part of the meal, but that did not really detract. Dessert was not the most expansive offering, but the cheese i had was lovely. Service was a little... More

A small restaurant that packs a punch. Creativity and fresh ingredients make this amazing place stand out among their peers. The service is top notch and you will never have a bad meal. Menu changes quite often and they keep it as fresh as possible. Open for lunch and dinner which makes it nice just in case you don't have... More

We had a delicious dinner with excellent service on a Saturday night. The food was perfectly prepared and the service wonderful. My monkfish was yummy, the duck breast grilled to perfection and the steak terrific….the flavors of all the dishes were unique and light. The wine let is great and reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining.

We booked a last minute table for four on a saturday evening. This restaurant is unlike a lot of other Michelin-rated places very cozy and informal. The food is exceptionally good and tasty. A mix of French-European dishes with an American twist. The wine list is extensive and holds wines from the US and all over the world. We just... More

Delicious, local foods served and presented in a beautiful manner. I attended a private business event and we had incredible service.
