The surroundings are elegant yet very soothing and comfortable and the bartender was exceptional. Prices are fair.

Stopped in for a solo dinner at the bar and sampled some of their cocktail and food offerings. Bartender Drew Dumont has a clear passion for mixology that is substantiated by his deft palate. His signature "lay of the land" is one of the best and most innovative cocktails I have enjoyed in quite awhile. It is an herbaceous, multilayered... More

They brought the historic first floor restaurant into the 21st Century without losing the magnificence of the architecture. Atwood, named after one of the architects, is cozy, the service impeccable, valet suggested, and the food is 5 star. We enjoyed a burrata (creamy mozzarella) cold appetizer and the filet was divine as was my friend's halibut - soft, moist and tasty.... More

Service was fabulous and they have possibly the best cheese plate deal in the city...for 20$, it's a sampler of Midwest cheeses and it is plentiful. That and the spoonbread hit the spot with a few glasses of wine prior to seeing a show. The decor is beautiful and all the windows allow for great people watching.

Seated immediately. Enjoyed the decor and natural light from the large corner location. The chopped chicken salad was really nicely played with attention to detail. taste for the eyes and the palate. Such a large portion, I took some home for a midnight snack. Great balsamic vinegar and olive oil on request. The pot d Cream dessert was absolutely indulgence.... More

Our drinks were served one at a time and mine took 10 minutes and that wasn't the last one. I ordered the salmon and it was very salty, which seemed to be the census throughout the other guests and there meals. Ordered 3 bottles of wine, with each attempt on the first try to be told they didn't have it... More

Great spot before a show for some light fare. Beautiful windows let you feel like a real Chicago-ian...staff was nice and efficient. The restaurant isn't cheap...but at that location, not expected. The menu also does not have a lot of choices for the fickle...so I would look at the web site to make sure there is something for everyone! The... More

I dined at Atwood as a table of 5 on a Friday night. We ordered quite a bit of the menu (cheese plate, meat plate, lamb meatballs, sliders, poutine, eggs, chicken thighs) and all was very tasty. For the mains we tried the; meatloaf, NY strip, and duck leg, and again all were very good. Overall the restaurant is good,... More

The Atwood sits on the corner of Washington and State Streets. We went there on a Saturday night for some small plates and were not disappointed. The restaurant space offers a comfortable and relaxed environment. Large windows allow you to people watch if you want. The staff is attentive and helpful. We ordered several small plates to share: bacon burger... More

THANK-YOU!!! I rarely eat breakfast at home as I am not a breakfast person, but when I travel I eat breakfast. It is tiring, and tedious most days unless I can find a place that realizes not everyone wants eggs, bacon, pancakes... Atwood is that place. Great breakfast menu that actually interested me, but also burger, sandwich, and salad options... More
