This was a recommendation from the hotel. Was 3 doors down from the Intercontinental . We went for lunch. Nice view of Michigan Ave . Service was good, the made I house veggie burger was fantastic. Very different, very unusual. Has plum juice, beets, beans and a grain. Was so good, would go back to Chigico just for that burger(... More

We reserved for 8:30 p.m. and were seated near the three-piece jazz band, which was delightful--not too loud, but gave a very cosmo atmosphere to the restaurant. I've been eating BBQ ribs for many decades, and in many places, so I'm a bit of a rib snob. The ones I ordered here were the best in my life!

I went here with a friend casually for dinner. It's a small intimate environment. The staff is properly dress and greet guest with a pleasant smile on their face. The wait was long but, the cocktail helped ease the wait. The live jazz band was wonderful to hear. My friend had a problem with her food and the staff had... More

Followed Trip Advisor to Bandera. A little hard to find because it is on the second floor and the ground level entrance is kind of nondescript. Anyway, the food is excellent. My wife and I really delighted in the French dip, but the other meat entrees are also delicious. Have not sampled the seafood, so no comment. The Apple walnut... More

I worked at Bandera over 10 years ago, and it remains my favorite place to eat. I make a habit of stopping every time I'm in Chicago. Bandera was doing fresh food, from scratch log before it became trendy. The menu isn't crazy or unique, but everything is top quality with amazing flavor.. I can never decide what to order...... The food and atmosphere were really great. We were able to sit right by the music in a curved banquette and really enjoyed our Sunday evening meal. The Pine Room Salad is especially delicious and our entrees were great, too (bbq salmon and tri-tip enchiladas). My Vesper cocktail was perfect (not too big, not too small). Will definitely visit again... More

Watching the chickens roast on the way in sets the tone of this spot. The chicken is great here - especially the salad. Don't forget the cornbread - to die for!

Great atmosphere with live music. Corn bread starter was awesome! The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The food was very good but not outstanding, just relatively regular tasty menu items cooked and presented well.

Been here many times. I've never had a bad meal. Highly recommend the prime rib Sandwich. Great wine list, nice atmosphere.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
