Bandera is in a really good location on Michigan and has a great atmosphere. The food was also absolutely delicious and I would go back any time!

My family and I ate lunch here on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30. It wasn't too crowded so we got a table overlooking Michigan Avenue, which allowed us to people watch. We had several servers, since I think we arrived in the middle of some shift changes. However, they were all friendly and did a good job. My salad was... More

We visited Bandera twice this summer and based on those dinner outings, we would highly recommend this restaurant. The only reason we rated them 4 out of 5 is due to the poor initial receptions we received by the seating hosts on each visit. They were unfriendly, disconnected, and oddly pretentious. Unfortunate in a restaurant that otherwise has an air... More

Ordered a rib and chicken plate. Walking to the restroom I could see the ribs sitting on the grill. Over-cooked. They weren't being loved-on at all. Just being forgotten on the grill. Not my thing. The interior is very nice. The bar staff friendly and very efficient. The chicken was good so I'm sure other items are very tasty as... More

We were invited here for a business dinner with several associates. The place is nice and cozy. Probably better for a date or cozy dinner than business. The corm bread everyone raves about is undoubtedly the best thing on the menu. The other food as good as advertised, not great but good and certainly worth the prices.

Lovely spot for a delicious meal and jazz. We ate at the bar-great service from Megan-and close to the jazz trio. We had the Macho salad and rotisserie lamb sandwich; both were outstanding! The house made Oreo ice cream sandwich is a must have!

There are many good places in Chicago to eat... all rated very well and many with Zagat reviews... this place was just great. It was one of our favorite that we went to. Simple, good food, and a good price point. The environment was nice too.

Love visiting and enjoying the succulent morsels of cornbread, chicken, lamb and ribs every time I come to the Windy City. Last night's wait to get a table 30 minutes past our reservation time was a disappointment, however. At least the food was delicious and the cornbread was comped.

We've eaten here the last few times we've visited Chicago. Again, the food and service was wonderful. Fresh fish - fantastic! The pork was so good! Fillet was on point. Of corse the corn bread - one of their specialties - was amazing. Crusty top and moist inside!! The atmosphere is great - a nice break from busy Michigan Avenue... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
