We wanted to enjoy a good traditional American dinner and live music. Our choice fell on on Bandera - not a bad choice at all. Even though theis place is run a bit mechanical and a with little bit of fake charm - it actually works. We enjoyed the traditional solid American meal and the live Jazz music to very... More

Ate here with 2 other business colleagues for dinner. Atmosphere/decor was very Chicago, nice (but loud) jazz band, very busy. Food was tasty, but definitely not the best we've ever had - hot cornbread was good, French dip was a little fatty and underdone. Overall, didn't live up to a top 10 restaurant rating.

There's something for everyone on Bandera's menu. Lots of comfort food. You MUST get the jalapeno cornbread - they are famous for it! I have been to the restaurant several times and it works for all occasions; date night, groups, family, business, girls night out.

Evening before Thanksgiving, walking through downtown Chicago looking for a place to eat. We agreed to stop at the next place we passed for dinner. Men's Wearhouse, had a menu posted on the outside wall.....food at Men's Wear house? Why not? We've had great meals at Bass Pro Shop so this might just work. Top of the escalator Bandera, was... It was a good dinner. I like the bar scene - it's a nice, comfortable bar, always busy but at the same time not too busy to eat on it. There is good live jazz band and not too loud. The prime rib is put on the fire which is not like regular prime rib but it was very well... More

We had a wonderful evening with great food combined with a fantastic waiter and great live jazz. The Iron skillet cornbread was a great start. I really enjoyed the Tabbouleh. The French dip sandwich is huge so make sure you share. I so wanted to try the ice cream sandwich but too full. We tried to come Sat. evening early... More

Terrific place, right on Michigan avenue 2nd floor, with allot of their food prepared in the brick ovens. The chicken which is done on the rotisserie in the ovens is delicious. The ribs you can have with them (used to be called "cluck and moo", get it?), are now barbequed with your choice of sides and their skillet corn bread... More

If you want a great atmosphere, excellent service and great food combined with live jazz this is the place to come. You really need to book as it is extremely popular. We managed to visit twice and received fantastic service both times from Tahvia who made our visits memorable.

This is an excellent restaurant with great food and the best service of any restaurant I have visited. Music entertainment for dinner along with awesome prime rib and the best cornbread!

Im doing no breads or fried foods and just had the Macho salad with dates and almonds! The ambience is a great wind down to shopping.
