I must confess that my wife and I are what the title states - especially when it comes to Italian food. We are hesitant to dine Italian when away from the New York metro area because we have usually been very disappointed with the food. However, I must admit that Volare is truly an excellent Italian restaurant and would compete... More

When you walk in you realise it's a happening place. If you want a quiet meal this is not It for you. If you want great Italian food with loud talk and atmosphere this is it. The waiters join I the banter and almost tell you want you want, in a nice way, and for us he was correct. Each... More

The gnocchi ala vodka were out of this world. So hot and light and fresh and that sauce.....I'm still thinking about how amazing that sauce was. Great venue for a quick business lunch.

Great friendly customer service, going beyond the call of duty to make our visit worthwhile. A huge menu choice for sure but all our party left happy. Pizza was thin and crispy with perhaps a bit too much cheese but good nontheless.

Stopped in based on Trip Advisor rating and comments. Wasn't disappointed. Food was a diverse, predominantly southern Italian cuisine. Waiter was attentive and helpful in selecting wine and food. Cocomero and Volare salads were delicious starters and I would recommend the Paella alla Sarda.

We were in Chicago for a national professional meeting. Our delegation had dinner together here. We had two long tables for about 50 people. We had adequate space to visit amongst ourselves and talk as a group. Service was attentive and considerate. We ate family style. The penne vodka was perfect al dente. Probably the best I have ever had... More

Let's agree that there are fancier restaurants, but for a family budget this was so good, great menu, great service by Jesus and a friendly welcome by all the team. Was nice to have a table on the outside, despite the heat of July, and such corner at Grand Avenue was not noisy at all (or we were lucky).

Benny runs a tight ship for his customers..As you stop by the bar to see Yuri or Karl before dinner the elegance begins with wine selections or a well poured Martini..You will then enter a white table cloth restaurant with a white label staff of well trained servers that know how to keep the customers satisfaction first.. It is not... More

Food was incredible. I went crazy and got chicken parmigiana. This is my go to dish and it might be the best I ever had. Five people in my party, all got something different. All raved about the taste. It is definitely $$$$ and you will have a wait (beware of places with no wait). The waiter was knowledgeable and... More

We were here a year ago and found this place. We made sure we ate here again on our return trip to Chicago. We've eaten at nice Italian restaurants all over the country and this is as good as it gets. We had the black spaghetti seafood dish (sub whole grain pasta), and the chicken parm. Both were awesome. Homemade... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
