We have been in Salam many many times for at list 8-10 years and the food here always has been great! Good portion, super fresh, great prices, and the staff are very friendly too. I can’t wait to go back!

I went to have dinner with my friend and decided to study there! Internet was free and easy to connect a fast. Food was great 👌

Ordered delivery last night - it shows up half an hour late, half the order missing, and left outside in the cold with no call or text. My neighbors stumbled across it, When I called the restaurant, I was informed that it was just the way it was and if the delivery driver took my food there was nothing that could be done. Thwy would just have to take my money like they provided the goods they promised. I paid for the privilege to NOT eat dinner last night.

Avoid this place at all costs! I ordered via Grubhub and my order wasn't ready after an hour. I arrived to the owner physically removing someone from the restaurant (strange and uncalled for). Once they finally completed my $50 order, half of it was incorrect. Cleanliness is lacking here, as is any semblance of customer service. This place used to be good, but that's no longer remotely the case (new ownership?). Look elsewhere: You can do better!

Salam used to be my favorite restaurant in Albany Park. But the last three times I've been there the food has not lived up to the food of the past. Are used to always get the steak kebab entrée in the last three times the steak has been chewy - incredibly chewy with not great flavor. I was going to have the chicken kebab which I also love but they've been out of it the last two times. But my friend went there last week and got a chicken kebab and said it was dry. Also the prices have gone up like crazy for a kebab entrée. And the falafel was really really garlicky and I threw it away are used to love their falafel but I don't like it anymore

I used to love this place as a local restaurant in Albany Park that served wonderful Middle Eastern food. On Valentine's Day 2019 it was a bit of a different story. I opted for a vegetarian item which boasted to have chickpeas in it, and I ordered extra jalapenos. In addition, my family had ordered some stuff too. Everything was outrageously ill prepped. My vegetarian entree was devoid of jalapenos, there were no sign of chickpeas, it was basically tomato paste carrots upon carrots and diced onion. It went right in the trash. My wife's gyros was cold and dry, and didn't come with tzatziki sauce. My kids chicken fingers didn't come with any sort of sauce and the large fry I ordered was missing from the order. My real complaint is when I called the restaurant, the manager said that he ground up the jalapenos and that's why I couldn't see them, (oh really? Do tell more) he said I can call him for a discount in the future, but I definitely won't be back. In a neighborhood that has a spectacular array of different dining options, Salam is taken off the list.

Time to indulge in an authentic Middle Eastern restaurant. Excellent hummus served with perfectly warmed pita bread. Jerusalem salad right on, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc. Kafta kabobs perfectly ground with parsley and spices are accompanied with basmati rice. Hummus awesome... The right place if you want vegetarian fare or indulge in meat. One of our guests ordered the lamb shank. Beautiful assortment of vegetables accompanied the shank, large enough portion to be another meal the next day. You know its good, middle easterners seated at many tables with their families and children. Just go!!! Enjoyable.

We have been coming here for several years because the food is excellent authentic Arab-Mediterranean and there are several items on the menu that are hard to find elsewhere. One of the best in Chicago. The staff is friendly and service is very good. The prices are very reasonable. However they have recently decided to adapt in ways that are not always successful. For instance the previously excellent tarator now has mayo in it. Hope they will go back to the original recipe.

As soon as you walk in the whole place is beautiful with stunning decorations and good friendly service. The food is authentic and delicious and the portions are really big for cheap. Also, don't forget to order the Turkish coffee!

Salam has a very good and fresh food!
The lunch sampler is cheap and delicious!
Don't mistake this is the real deal in money and food.
