Café Selmarie has been a regular go-to of mine for many years. On Saturday, I stopped in for a delicious cup of coffee and a fig custard - featuring fresh figs! I loved sitting outside even in October. The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, stopped in and ordered take out for the exciting first Cubs game in the World Series,... More

We stopped at this little cafe for breakfast prior to sightseeing downtown. We ate on the patio, as it was a beautiful morning. Delicious quiche and great service. Also has a great bakery section with lots of goodies! Located in the Lincoln Square area - a variety of cute shops and restaurants!

My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious brunch at Cafe Selmarie. It was a very busy Sunday brunch time, but our service was excellent. The food was exceptional, especially the cinnamon roll and my omelet. The only detraction was the incredible noise level, with concrete floors and high ceilings, the many shrieking children made conversation almost impossible. We would have... More

We were taken here by people we had just met and it was a very good choice. The menu had a wide variety, it was quiet and restful on a busy Saturday night in Lincoln Square. Very civilized.

Skip this place. They discriminate against handicapped and elderly. Skip over customers on wait list, then when called on it, do not apologize but shrug it off. Very limited menu, poor service. Other Lincoln Square restaurants in the immediate area are MUCH, MUCH better I. E, Jerry's, Greek Taverna, Chicago Brauhaus, Gene's, etc.

A very fine dining establishment and bakery in a lively Chicago neighborhood. Many interesting items on the menu - - I would call the fare "European-American fusion". I ordered a spicy shrimp scampi dish which was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife ordered a chicken pot pie that was also excellent - - served with a puffy philo dough bread.... More

Located in a nice neighbourhood on a small square, it is really great breakfast / brunch place. They have nice menu with salads, really great sandwitches and entrees and delicious pastries. The cinnamon rolls and tiramisu are amazing. The prices are really resonable too and the staff is caring and attentive. A lot of families go here as well because... More

Went here on a Saturday for brunch with my boyfriend and 2 friends. Had about a 30 - 35 minute wait (around 11:45 a.m.), but that was expected. Firstly, it's LOUD inside. The waitress could not hear me from 2 feet away and I kept repeating things. We all did. Still, she was patient, friendly, always smiling and got all... More

Lovely little Cafe on Lincoln Ave. where we were lucky enough to get seated outdoors along a side street courtyard with a musician singing and playing guitar. My son and husband had different versions of Eggs Benedict--delicious and perfectly cooked! I had an Arugula Omelet which was a bit on the dry side, but good. Best country-fried potatoes ever! The... Nice simple cafe on Lincoln Square. Pasties to go look awesome. Breakfast was nice. A limited menu. Healthy choices. I ordered a special omelet. It was more of a solid scrambled egg well cooked then folded around the ingredients like a burrito. Really tasteless and boring - actually not good. I also ordered a side of the chicken sausage. As... More
