Went there with my family, kids and wife. The atmosphere was great, simple, authentic, and the band was a nice addition. The pork shank was very tender and good. Split pea soup and pretzel were also very good. The wiener snitzel was pretty common as was the spatzel. Beer a bit of a disappointment considering it was a german restaurant.... More

We were a party of seven and the service was a bit off. I asked for balsamic vinegar dressing, and the waitress said they had it, but when it arrived it was not balsamic. It would have been nice if she had been honest and admitted they didn't have it or perhaps she didn't even know what it was. The... More

This was my first visit to Chicago to see my son's new apt and celebrate our dual May Birthdays. We both love German food so decided to attend the Mayfest at Chicago Brauhaus. Atmosphere was a family oriented beer hall reminiscent of this in Munich. Traditional German fare, tasty and great German beers or wine. Efficient and friendly staff, gave... More

I am English and my wife is Italian so it doesn't figure that we'd be dining at a German restaurant. But Chicago is a mixed bag of virtually every ethnic group you can think of so we have decided to visit restaurants of every kind, from Italian to French to British to German to Asian to Thai to Mexican. Everything... More

Neat little trinkets and what not, polka music was playing. I ordered a very large beer and the porkshank which was delicious. Seemed pretty traditional, with food a decor.

This was the highlight of my weekend trip to Chicago!! I spent 20 years in Germany(my wife is German) and this place put a smile on her face the likes of which I haven't seen for a long time!! It was like stepping back into a good old fashioned German establishment!! I reserved 3 weeks out with a party of... More

We enjoyed a fine dinner and evening at the Chicago Brauhaus as a group of five. The atmosphere was lively and inviting with music, dancing and a carefree mix of diners. The food was excellent. The roast duck could not have been better. The cost was very reasonable. Everyone in our group will place this on their "Must return list"

Went for lunch because we saw this restaurant on an episode of Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives and wanted to try it. Very good food! service was wonderful, everyone including the owner was very friendly. Food came out quick and hot! My boyfriend is German and said how the food was just like how his Oma made when he was younger.... More

Though we had not been here before, it's dated decor has a familiar feel that matches the traditional German menu. No frills, just make sure you order one of the fresh-on-tap German Beers they feature. I had the sauerbraten and was not disappointed. Unfortunately we had to leave before dessert, but the quick trip to Lakeshore Drive from Lincoln Square... More

Description
Welcome to the Chicago Brauhaus
For over 40 years we have been serving up good cheer in Chicago's Lincoln Square Neighborhood. We offer a friendly Bavarian atmosphere where friends and family of all ages can enjoy a good meal, a stein of cold beer and dance along to the sounds of the world famous Brauhaus Trio. It is always Oktoberfest at the Chicago Brauhaus.
