Food is excellent. Atmosphere is nice as long as you are not in the bar. If you are a picky eater or prefer minor substitutions, this is probably not the place for you. Some of the staff seem nasty and rude.

When the kids come to town, they always want to go to the Brauhaus. My wife's family are German, so this was a place with many memories of times at the Brauhaus for them, and of the German food at home. This restaurant has been there for years in the old German Section of Chicago. It is authentic, the food... More

My husband and I brought 7 people from Mexico who were visiting Chicago (and the USA) for the first time. They were quite impressed with the boots of beer. We shared the sausage platter, steak tartar, pretzel and wings as appetizers. Delicious! The bread basket offered a variety of bread. However, on this visit, all the bread was disappointingly stale.... More

Went there with my family, kids and wife. The atmosphere was great, simple, authentic, and the band was a nice addition. The pork shank was very tender and good. Split pea soup and pretzel were also very good. The wiener snitzel was pretty common as was the spatzel. Beer a bit of a disappointment considering it was a german restaurant.... More

We were a party of seven and the service was a bit off. I asked for balsamic vinegar dressing, and the waitress said they had it, but when it arrived it was not balsamic. It would have been nice if she had been honest and admitted they didn't have it or perhaps she didn't even know what it was. The... More

This was my first visit to Chicago to see my son's new apt and celebrate our dual May Birthdays. We both love German food so decided to attend the Mayfest at Chicago Brauhaus. Atmosphere was a family oriented beer hall reminiscent of this in Munich. Traditional German fare, tasty and great German beers or wine. Efficient and friendly staff, gave... More

I am English and my wife is Italian so it doesn't figure that we'd be dining at a German restaurant. But Chicago is a mixed bag of virtually every ethnic group you can think of so we have decided to visit restaurants of every kind, from Italian to French to British to German to Asian to Thai to Mexican. Everything... More

Neat little trinkets and what not, polka music was playing. I ordered a very large beer and the porkshank which was delicious. Seemed pretty traditional, with food a decor.

This was the highlight of my weekend trip to Chicago!! I spent 20 years in Germany(my wife is German) and this place put a smile on her face the likes of which I haven't seen for a long time!! It was like stepping back into a good old fashioned German establishment!! I reserved 3 weeks out with a party of... More

Description
Welcome to the Chicago Brauhaus
For over 40 years we have been serving up good cheer in Chicago's Lincoln Square Neighborhood. We offer a friendly Bavarian atmosphere where friends and family of all ages can enjoy a good meal, a stein of cold beer and dance along to the sounds of the world famous Brauhaus Trio. It is always Oktoberfest at the Chicago Brauhaus.

We hope to see you soon!
