I was trying out the Door Dash ap and came across this family owned pizza restaurant. I ordered a 12" thin crust pizza with olives, onion and sausage. It arrived in roughly 40 minutes and was still warm enough to eat. The cheese topping was generous, the crust buttery and crisp and the other topping applied generously.
This pie is among the best that I've ever had and I will definitely order one again soon.
Again, this was a delivery, so I can't comment on the ambience or service at the restaurant itself.

We are life-long New York pizza eaters and Italians to boot, so we were afraid we wouldn't find any pies we could stand after moving to Chicago. Especially after trying a couple of local places and hardly being able to swallow the burned cardboard crusts and less than fresh toppings. Then we stumbled on Papa Joe's with a Chicago Pan Pizza that is phenomenal! The 14" size is so substantial with the added sausage and mushroom topping that my husband and I can make 2 meals out of it. Nice family place that issues coupons to frequent customers and even attaches happy holiday messages in appreciation of their patrons.

I love papa Joe’s. It is easily the best in the Norwood park neighborhood. In Chicago there are plenty of great choices. papa Joe’s is a great choice in this neighborhood.

I write this 1-star review with a heavy heart. I’ve been ordering pizza from here for about 10 years, but the last 2 times I’ve ordered from here it’s been a complete crap show. About a month ago I ordered a half cheese/half sausage mushroom for my family, hence the half cheese, but what we got was a half cheese/half tomato black olive. I called, as one would, and was told that they had already realized their mistake and already had a replacement in the oven. It showed up about 45 minutes later and the delivery guy asked for the old pizza back (I know 🤦♂️), unfortunately I had fed the half cheese to my kids already because they’re young and hungry, the delivery guy had to go back to the car and call to find out if he could still leave the new pizza (again 🤦♂️). Full disclosure the 2nd pie came with a free 2-liter of coke in solicited and still to this day unopened (were not big pop drinkers).
Fast forward to tonight when I again ordered another half cheese half sausage mushroom at 6:19pm. I opened the call with “I’d like to place an order for delivery”. The girl answering the phone confirmed my name in her system, took the order and said it’d be ready in a half hour, I was about to ask how so quick, when she reminded herself it was for delivery (🤦♂️) and changed the eta to “within the hour”. Almost an hour later I get a call from the same girl. She wanted to know if my order was for delivery (🤦♂️). Yes it was I replied. Then she apologized and asked if I would mind paying a 2nd time because she forgot to charge me for delivery (🤦♂️). Not believing that the thought of comping the delivery fee even occurred to her in this situation I went and got my cc and paid the 2.95. She said my pizza was now on its way. 45 minutes later I recieved a lukewarm pizza that the delivery driver said “had sat under the heating lamp for quite a while”. Of course I call and ask for the manager... he didn’t quite see how much of problem this was and brushing me off with a “things don’t always go perfect” he asked me what I wanted him to do about it...
I told him I didn’t know what to ask for, so he offered me $5 off my next order. I wasn’t happy with that and he said that’s all he’s authorized by the owner to offer. I told him I’d find another pizza joint, this is Chicago after all and there’s plenty of other places to get pizza and I suggest you, the reader, do the same.
