This family run place is popular with locals (including me!) for its Thai food in a very casual atmosphere. Portions are generous but not crazy, prices are on the low side of fair, and quality is very good. BYOB.

Per recommendation of neighbors, we tried this small, BYOB, Thai Restaurant. We love that it is walking distance from our new apartment. The service was friendly, the food delicious, prices very reasonable and portions large. We enjoyed the fresh egg rolls, the yellow curry and...the pad Thai. We will definitely be coming back soon.More
This is a no-atmosphere Thai place with fantastic, reasonably priced food and friendly service. It's closed on Wednesdays. If you're in the neighborhood, you can't go wrong here.
With the incredibly large number of restraunt options here in Chicago, it's really saying something when I'd go to a place twice. Ben's was casual, comfortable, clean, and yummy. A friend and I split Pad Woon Sen and Mango Chicken. I would definitely order the...PWS again. The soup and egg roll were also a hit!More
I love Thai food, and one evening I Stumbled off the frozen streets of a blustery Chicago winter and right into this gem. The food here is delicious, no doubt you will be safe to order anything on the menu and like it. I LOVE...their spicy basil chicken noodle dish--it is to die for. Throughout the years of eating at this establishment I got to know the owner and his lovely wife, they are super nice! Love this place!!More
It was not elegant, elite or expensive. The restaurant inside was like a regular restaurant. I felt comfortable sitting, eating and reading a book. It is what I usually want from a restaurant. The food was good, especially the soup. The staff was efficient and...courteous. The price was fair. Apparently they cater to parties of all sizes. I enjoyed the calm eating experience. My fortune cookie said "read a good book" and I was reading a good book. Sounds like a lucky place to eat.More
I love love love this place - super friendly staff, such a family atmosphere, and THE best pad-see-ew I have ever had in my life. I've had many friends who claim the pad thai is the best they have ever had as well. It may...not be possible to ever have a bad meal here. The restaurant space is small and quaint - pretty quiet. If that's not your thing, their takeout is just as good.More
We have been eating here for a number of years. Friendly staff, quick service, and good food. A nice neighborhood restaurant. I like their Pad Thai. It is a small little place new the Red Line and close to Broadway and Sheridan Roads. Asian fusion,...noodles and Thai food.More
The owner is genuinely nice and cares about his guests. Food is prepared quickly, a great place for take-out. Very nice for dine-in also. The food is awesome, especially considering the low prices. I could eat here almost every day.
Chris -the owner is super quick, awesome. he knows how far it takes in Red Line from Down Town he knows when i said i am near Belmont station he can figure out they are really flexible. It was awesome today - October 29 2015-...they made a Veggie Fried rice really hot and spicy. They were quick to understand and take care of it. Very reasonable -it costed 8.95 or something like that. It is small place- but well maintained. The guy who serves also very nice guy. nice place in Brywn Mayr this is close to Red Line - this is the train i take SubwayMore
I am a fan of Thai food and have been to several outstanding Thai restaurants. Tried this one because of the reviews but wasn't impressed. Very friendly staff. Got take out since I was traveling alone. Got a salad with peanut dressing. The dressing was...pastie. Usually love this dressing but not this one. Ordered pad thai with shrimp. Was not that flavorful, sauce could have been better. Sadly, it was just okay. Like I said, I am a big fan of Thai food but would not go back to this one. Very convenient location and restaurant was small and quaint.More
Ben's is a great neighborhood spot. The restaurant is small and the service is always great. I love to bring a bottle of wine.
The service was warm and welcoming. Because their website is difficult to navigate and the mobile version didn't work right for me, I made my best guess at what to order and needed some help over the phone. Ultimately, we figured it out, and the...order turned out right. We got mixed vegetables, chicken and broccoli, and crab rangoon. The veggies were fresh, the crab was fried in clean oil, and the chicken was high quality. Unfortunately, nothing was particularly flavorful and the duck and hot sauces were too vinegary. Understanding how preferences vary, I don't want to steer anyone away from Ben's. Give it a try--I hope you enjoy it!More
