Great location for late evening and late night diners. I usually order take out and it's ready and packaged on arrival and before I get there. There is a section for rice dishes on their menu and I wish they would offer more choices. The...dishes with eggplant were atrocious, they need to be paired with something different!! Weiqiang Li should add to this RICE menu with dishes like chicken & broccoli, Hunan beef, Mongolian beef & more.More

If you are not Asian do not go here. Because your experience will be subpar compared to your Asian counterparts. Just left and wish I could give them ZERO Stars. I have never seen a place serve it’s cliental so unfairly. If you’re Asian, plastic...cups with Extra Ice no less, and complimentary Green Tea. If you’re American water will be served in old ass cups, and Tea must be purchased off drinks menu. First, I thought the clients were asking for it. Then I just kept seeing it happen over and over again. Asian client one type of service, Americans another. Asked for Steamed Dumplings, was served Shrimp filled dumplings. We don’t eat Shrimp, and told the waiter no seafood. Was charged anyway and they would not remove it from the bill. Icing on the cake and is what pushed me to write this review. A disgrace and cultural disservice. Instead of treating people equally this establishment serves its clients extremely poorly, unless you’re Asian.More

Tucked in the Chinatown Square mall off of Archer, this is quite a hit with the locals, and we see why. It has an expansive menu, with about 10 booths and two tables in the center. Lots of hustle and bustle with locals and tourist...alike vying for the waiters attention to order. We ordered the squab, shrimp won ton soup, 2 rice dishes, chicken skewers, beef n turnips and fried bean curd - and every single one was really really good like Hong Kong cooking should taste like. With reasonable prices, quick service, we were happy to find this place. And then you have the various dessert places all around to top off the meal!More

We got into our hotel in Chicago at 11pm and nothing was open around us. We decided to order Chi Café takeout, to be delivered. Yelp said it would take 60mins, but it took about 25. It was amazing! The delivery driver called when he...got downstairs and my husband went down to meet him. Delivery was beyond timely and friendly! We ordered an abundance of food since we were going to be up all night working. The egg rolls, egg drop soup, Singapore street noodles, chicken fried rice, and orange chicken were all amazing....and waaaaay too much food for us. However, it hit the spot! It was hot and fresh! Couldn't have anticipated a better experience. Thank you Chi Café for making the evening the best!More

Quick service once we were seated. We ordered several dishes that were tasty - I had ordered a Lo Mein dish, I think they forgot about it and just served us a random dish towards the end of our meal. Overall, a good experience and...we left full!More

Long wait was worth it. We got out of our convention at Mccormick late - after 10pm - then took an Uber to the Chi Cafe in china town. We were a bit confused at first because we were dropped off behind the building but...realized we walked around the front and into this beautiful alley way with all these wonderful shops and eateries!! Chi cafe was PACKED and we waited about a half hour at the door for a seat. It was a bit crowded and we had to manually write our name on the waiting list but it was worth the wait. I got a ginger bbq pork lo mein and crab rangoons. All i can say is.... friggin DELICIOUS. I wish I could seriously go back and eat this right now lol!! My husband got this wonderful sake beef dish on a hot sizzling plate and rice and it was fabulous too! Only con was that it was very very busy and we were there late on a Saturday but it was extremely worth it. It was def a kind of hole in the wall joint with some super fabulous food!More

good place to have lunch any day, sitting is plenty but the center portion is awkward if a small party, 1-2 persons. Serving is average, but efficient, Food is reasonably good, fresh and well cooked. Lots of items on menu with Cantonese dishes. Take out...is available but seems smaller portion than dine in. Casual eating, lots of noise if crowded, family oriented rather than dating place, although lots of young couples were in most of time due to price and to ambience of causality. Part of a large group of nearby restaurant ownersMore

I used to come here all the time a few years ago when I went to college. I went back not too long ago and the whole place has been remodeled. Everything is as great as always except for some of the seats. They've put...in these like barrel chairs that are super hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise great food and service.More

This location is in the newer Chinatown Square mall area rather than the old Wentworth Ave. main drag. It was easy to find, and though the seating was limited, we got right in for an early lunch, during which we were the only tourists in...the place. They always say you want to go where the locals go, and this is the place. Our 11 year old wanted to try the JELLYFISH appetizer. I asked the waiter's opinion and he did NOT recommend it, but kids will be kids so we gambled away $7 on it. I mean, really, when else are you gonna have a chance to try jellyfish?. Hubby and I thought the texture was off-putting (to put it nicely), looked and had the mouth feel of gristle, but the kiddo actually liked the stuff. Everything else we got was delicious, however. Shrimp in lobster sauce, sweet and sour pork rib, and stir fried beef lo mein. The pork rib was on the bone (server warned me and verified that would be okay) and returned me to memories of childhood in this great neighborhood. The stir fried lo mein was pleasantly firm, dry, and flavorful. I can see why the area residents all seemed to be regulars in this laid-back, friendly, and authentic café.More

I imagine that this is like eating in Hong Kong. We dined with a group that have eaten at Chi Cafe regularly. I left the ordering to them so I can't really say specifically what we had, but it was all so very good.
