We were recommended here by the staff at Residence Inn for good sushi in the area. Jellyfish is a home run. We were quickly seated and our server Bee took our drink orders. We had the sizzling stone Wagyu appetizer and the shisito peppers. The beef was delicious and tender. The kids enjoyed cooking their own. We were mildly disappointed... More

We made a reservation as we wanted Sushi and something close to our spa appt. We made a reservation at 4 on Friday night and lucky for us it was Happy Hour which meant half of a select menu of sushi rolls. The roll selection was amazing and we got three rolls (with about 8-10 pieces each) and a salad... More

Solid sushi restaurant located on the edge of Gold Coast and Near North Side neighborhoods. Food was excellent, with a wide assortment of offerings. The bar was about half full, which wasn't bad for a Monday evening. Service was excellent, our waitress provided solid recommendations and was extremely attentive. I will definitely return.

Wonderful traditional Japanese / sushi restaurant in a great location. Its a bit hard to locate being just a narrow door leading to a staircase leading to this upper floor restaurant... watch the addresses carefully and you'll locate it but don't count on seeing the entrance or sign as they are crammed between the other businesses in this block. The... More

This place has so much potential -- great location, trendy ambiance, and a relatively diverse menu. But the food was so unbelievably bad (especially the sushi) and way overpriced. Very disappointed with this experience.

The very casually dressed hostess who sat us turned out to be the manager - during our time in the restaurant she was sitting at a table with her laptop out and was directly in line of vision of all diners and it was quite off-putting. That said, our server was very good and the food was also good.

This restaurant is modern and gorgeous and has the food to match! The oxtail dumplings were amazing and all the sushi was too. Very fresh fish. I had the Mandarin Mule to drink and I recommend that too. I'll definitely return.

One of the best sushi restaurants I've been to. Fun location as well! I'm typically not a huge fan of salmon sushi and I'd get their salmon rolls every time.

The food here is amazing. My wife took me here for a intimate birthday dinner back in December & I love every bit of it. Sushi? Amazing. Drinks? Amazing. The ambience? Amazing. Seriously, the only thing to not like about this place is how difficult it was to find. However it was a crazy cold, snowy night in downtown Chicago... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
