Lots of tasty plates to choose from - big variety. 5 of us and there was ample on each plate for everyone to have a taste. Grilled octopus and as excellent. Seafood paella was very tasty. Garlic bread was a bit disappointing - don't think they use butter.

Dear BigFootMidlands, thank you for your review! Our grilled Octopus is to die for and it comes from the coast of Spain - I think it is outstanding too! The garlic bread that comes with the Queso de Cabra is not made with butter but with EVVO Spanish Oil. Hope to see you back when the Patio is open! More

Was in town for business and found this gem right around the corner from my hotel. I'm a huge fan of Tapas and love to share with a group, unfortunately I was on my own so could only sample a couple but they were both superb. Enjoyed the Salmon a la Taverna and the Albondigas de Cordero, both were presented... More

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Emilio's with a large group. The experience was absolutely delightful. Emilio (the owner and chef) greeted the group and returned to the table to assure that we were all happy with our selections. The service is top notch, the restaurant is immaculate and tastefully decorated. The food was superb, portions were perfectly... More

Dear timmiecortina, Wow, what an amazing review! Thank you for all the details and kudos! My favorite dessert is also the Platanos con helado - love the house made Carmel sauce. My staff is truly amazing, they are dedicated and passionate towards our guests. Gracias. More

We stopped by at 5:30PM on a weekday - it was quiet and it is a large restaurant. We ordered about seven tapas dishes, a bottle of Spanish wine, and a dessert. The waiter was excellent and all the food was served timely and well done. My wife liked the tuna canolli so much, we reordered. The food seemed authentic.... More

We ordered the paella. It was OK, we had far better at a Spanish restaurant in St. Pete's earlier in the year. The cazuela was good, the other tapas were quite good.

This was a very good tapas style restaurant serving Mediterranean style food . It was delicious !!! The four each chose a tapas to share, while our paella was being prepared . I had a couple of glasses of rose wine which was very good. We all had our favorite dish. We really enjoyed the food and wine. I couldn't... More

If you have never had Spanish food - you should definitely put this on your short list. They have free flamenco music on the last Sunday of the month from 6-8:30. I have been going to Emilio's restaurants since they first opened in 1988. Everything is prepared with love - the restaurant is beautiful and food is amazing!

Jose was our waiter and he explained about tapas and took care of us during our meal. He was excellent!! We ordered 5 tapas to share. Everything was great. Calamari was slightly grilled and soft enough to bite. Lamb meat balls came with curry and tomato sauce. Spicy pirate was not too spicy. Chicken and chorizo was great with bread.... More

We went to the restaurant expecting to find a number of gluten free offerings for my wife. Upon checking the menu further the number of options offered was very limited. The food overall was fair and would not return. The restaurant makes it a point to tout Gluten Free options, but in reality it is very misleading. We travel extensively... More

Dear Mark3r80 It sounds like you were not handed our Gluten Free Menu! As of end of December 2016 we have now have a one menu identifying our gluten free (32 items) and vegetarian (10 items) with the symbols of gf or v. This will eliminate the need for 2 menus. I'm sorry that your dining experience was less than... More

We love the small tapas plates at this place. A lot of them are standard Spanish fare, but prepared really well. The sangria is outstanding and available by the pitcher. Highly recommended! In the summer you can sit outdoors, which can be very romantic.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
