It was my first visit in Chicago and I felt like a real American burger! Friends recommended this place! I was very hungry and couldn't really figure out what burger to build but it's actually a great idea to create your own burger! You choose your meat, flavour, bun, cheese, and toppings! Very very fresh and yummmy! Definitely recommend if... More

This is a fantastic restaurant. I've been there at least 20 times and never had a bad experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding, and well worth the price. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming... I just wish there were more indoor tables! I suppose that would detract from the vibe and charm, though. It's... More

Had heard great things about this place and been meaning to try. Met and surpassed all my expectations for quality of the meat, fixings, and preparation of their burgers. I had the Chicago blend spice recipe, and it was excellent. I like that they give you several different ways to spice the meat, and will try one of the other... More

This was a spur of the moment decision for us. It was probably our favorite meal on the trip. The burger was incredible, the service was fun and no-frills, and the CUSTARD. My god. We got the caramel custard after we ate and we were so happy that we did. Do not miss this neighborhood favorite.

This unassuming little place is just opposite the Armitage CTA station so it is very easily reached by public transport. It is on a strip of interesting boutique shops and has an outdoor side patio. The concept is simple choose a meat - about 5 choices here including regular beef, grass fed beef (our choice) some game I believe and... More

I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. There was no line, the staff was very friendly. There are many options for seasonings on the burgers. Recommendations came quickly from the staff. Pretzel buns are an option for the burgers and worth the extra cost. The outdoor dining was pleasant, but the sidewalk is notably uneven so you need... More

Stopper by before Steppenwolf Theatre based on reviews and the fact that they are a BYOB. Immediately greeted by the manager who asked if he could explain th3 menu and answer any questions. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. You get to pick your meat, many options including turkey burgers, lentil burger, shrimp burger, salmon burger and of course red meat... More

My husband, son, and I tried Butcher and the Burger for the first time on a Saturday afternoon in June. This is a small, corner shop with a butcher case that serves a few burgers on the side. The guys ordered the sirloin steak burgers and added fried eggs and other toppings until they were so stacked up I wondered... More
