Just the place to duck in from the cold! The nacho supreme from Downtown Dogs was a hit with my husband and I!! I only wish I had felt like drinking when I was here....we will be back!!

Have always wanted to stop in here after running errands on North Michigan Avenue. Ffinally did and was rewared with a refreshing craft brew. Lots of those available, both on tap and by the bottle. This is a crowd pleasing place and thus always crowded, but be persevering and have a great time in a lively and friendly tavern.

This is a very nice neighborhood bar in downtown Chicago with a strong Irish influence. Its always packed with a recurrent crowd. The service was quick and attentive. All sorts of drinks and beers on tap. Very good!

Being in Chicago for work I stumbled on this place my first weekend and then I've never gone anywhere else. The staff are really friendly and attentive and always ready to top you up. I managed to bag a seat at the bar each time but it does get busy. Felt like the people that work their really love it... More

Being from the uk and living in Ireland I know a thing or two about pubs! This is a great little boozer and I wouldn't call it an 'Irish bar' in fact I think that sort of thing is a load of junk. The only Irish bars are in Ireland, this is a great American pub and believe me that's... More

My wife and I don't claim any Irish ancestry, mostly English and Italian, but we're excited about our latest culinary adventure, searching for the best Irish Pubs in Chicago. We've only begun. We have visited O'Brien's, Duke of Perth, Dublin's, Butch McGuire's and Timothy O'Toole's. But the list of candidates is long and distinguished. They are as plentiful as Starbucks... More

Boy can Jimmy make a great old fashioned! This is a super friendly, cozy little spot! If you want a beer or a well made stiff drink for a pittance of the cost compared to every bar in the area... this is your place! Had a blast & plan to go back tonight! Cheers!

When going to the city Pippin's is our first stop for a drink. This is a neighborhood style bar in the city. The beer selection was very good and the bartender was excellent.

After a day of shopping, my adult daughter and I wanted a drink and found this great pub. The atmosphere was bright, fun, and friendly. The drinks were well made and not outrageously expensive. The staff was attentive and friendly. As a visiting Christmas shopper, this was a marvelous find. We will definitely be back if we stay in the... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
