The lines out the door are gone, but of course YMMV, because if word gets out there are no lines out the door, there will be lines out the door. As for the pizza ... it's wonderful. In particular you won't find better crust anywhere:...More

To me, the more wonderful something simple can be the better the talent in the kitchen - like a perfect french fry. This is the deal here with pizzas whose ingredients have their provenance on the chalkboard. And, it's BYOW.

Remember seinfelds "soup nazi"? Well this guy could be compared to him but makes pizza rather than soup. Crust is beyond good! It's high quality dough, something that would be used to make a great bread rather than a pizza pie. His ingridients are all...More

This place is small, only 3 tables, so you might consider doing carry-out. Unsure if they offer delivery. The ingredients are ALL farm fresh and local (Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois) and the combinations are unique; unlike the standard veggie/meat and cheese combos. They only offer...More

We're longtime Chicagoans so it seemed just wrong to have not tried this highly touted, oft reviewed and celebrated pizza. Ordered at 6 pm on a Wednesday and were told to pick up at 7:50 pm. Not exactly as planned but I can go with...More

I think I have like one other one star review on here. I hate giving a place one star, especially a place as highly touted as Great Lake. I ask myself: am I rating it so low based on my lofty expectations? That's not fair...More

I've been fortunate enough to eat pizza around the world and all over Italy. My favorite food to make at home is pizza from scratch and I'll spend hours fussing over ingredients. All that said, the pizza I just ate here was by far and...More

I've recently tried some the best pizzas around the country, including many of those in the Alan Richman GQ list of May 2009. I've gotten both Frank Pepe and Sally's Apizza in New Haven, Tacconelli's and Osteria in Philadelphia, and Great Lake in Chicago. Great...More

Kind of sad to be releasing this to trip advisor - as they pride themselve on that local atmosphere - but, it was just put into NYTimes mag as one of the best pizza places in the country. Classic-style neopolitian pizza - and amazing - small space (only 12-17 seats) and carry-out in Andersonville, Chicago. But, it is sooo worth it.
