Stopped by on a DePaul class field trip to Lincoln Square and enjoyed a delicious lunch bowl. Sweet plantain topped with shredded chicken, black beans, veggies, and yummy sauces. Super filling, tasty, flavorful. The owners are the sweetest people, this whole place is just lovely....A+More

The menu at Sweet Pepper is not extensive, but everything they make is delicious and prepared with care. The owners are invested in the community, and are warm and welcoming to everyone who comes in - that paired with the delicious arepas (plantain option being...my fave) swiftly made us regulars here.More

We visited Sweet Pepper Food Bar because it was recommended by our Venezuelan friend. He had taken his mother to eat there. She loved it. This restaurant is therefore endorsed by Venezuelan mothers. :) I loved it. The service was extremely friendly. I had an...Arepa with carnitas, black beans and lime vegetables. I cannot wait to go back for more.More

I found this place on line and chose it because it is entirely gluten-free (one of my family members is gluten and dairy free). You can choose your base, arepas, rice, plantains or salad, and then choose a protein, toppings and sauce. Everything looked fresh...and inviting. I had an arepa with black beans, avocado, and plantains which was very good. Everyone else had a version of chicken and rice, and all liked theirs. It's a small place, very casual and the server was nice and answered all of our questions.More
