We were looking for a quiet nightcap away from the music, televisions and bustling crowds of holiday travelers and people just living it up in the local bars. We felt so lucky to find Z Bar. The ambience is simple, gorgeous, and calm and the service was top-notch. Special thanks to Dorota who was such a professional and yet funny and very real. We enjoyed her attentiveness and service very much.
If you are in Streeterville, near Miracle Mile, you owe it to yourself to enjoy some awesome drinks with perfect presentation by the professional and kind staff of Z Bar.
By the way, their food looked great too, we were just too full to order anything. Thanks again Dorota!!

Located on the fifth floor of the Peninsula Hotel. The stylish decor and friendly staff is what you notice first. The views are next level! The food is a symphony of taste and color and very delicious! Our server was Dorota was excellent!

Great experience at bar with Adam. Get his “champagne shooters”! Well prepared Martinis exactly as requested. Bar food is delicious and well served by Amber and Armando (and also Edina). What a great team!

Absolutely the worst bar service we’ve ever experienced from Adam. Myself and 4 friends came for a drink because we heard about the view and service from another Chicago resident. We were greeted warmly by other hotel staffers, but the moment we sat down Adam was incredibly rude. At one point, one of our friends asked to order something from the menu, and Adam said “why don’t you order something else because that’s messy AND YOU ALREADY ARE MESSY”. Let me make something perfectly clear - we didn’t walk into this establishment intoxicated, nor did we walk into this establishment and order multiple rounds of shots. I understand that we weren’t dressed in heels and suits, but we also saw families dressed similar to us. Not only will I never return, I will make absolutely sure that every single person knows about what an awfully experience this was. What a terrible person you’ve hired to work with people. Adam, let us be the first to remind you, we may not look the way that you expected us to, but the racial undertones and rude comments speak volumes about your moral character.

We had a great visit to ZBar for drinks. But since it was cold and rainy, the visit was only slightly worth the cost. They have $1000 Manhattans ….
But on a nice evening, this place would be magical. We had three drinks for $90. Good cocktails and good service. Very loud but we still enjoyed it.

Amazing experience, the views were incredible, great vibe as well. Was not rushed, service was perfect. Also the hostess Julia was extremely professional and made sure I was happy with my table. I was staying at the hotel, it was also really good.

We had afternoon drinks at the Z Bar after a spa treatment at the Peninsula. our Bartender was outstanding and the Z martini was a delight. Unfortunately the rooftop outside was not open but it looked lovely. I shall Return.

Magnificent views of the Magnificent mile! The Z Bar occupies a high floor of the Peninsula hotel, so it’s a glossy, upscale setting with top end drinks & snacks. Negronis were knockout! It’s an intimate, buzzy but elegant indoor space, with a fab Al fresco terrace wrapped around …. prime spot on a winters night being the cosy sofas round the outdoor fire pit.
Service was polished but friendly.

Fairly poor reception on arrival - the hostess just about managed to show us to a table - she was clearly more interested in chatting to her colleagues. We waited 10 minutes to be served and then asked the hostess if it was actually table service - she said it was - went off to find someone and came back 5 minutes later and reluctantly said she'd take our order. We didn't bother as we had a dinner reservation and felt very unwelcome anyway. Expected much better from a high end hotel bar!

We moved to the bar at Ritz Carlton and never looked back.

At the top of the Peninsula hotel this new "happening" bar is elegant, yet fun and delicious drinks and snacks. They offer really nice wine options by the glass as well. Fun place to meet friends or business clients for a drink

Make sure to book before you go, we paid 200 in advance to guarantee our reservation and you get 90 minutes at the bar, time and money flew, it was a little chilly so our waitress got us cozy blankets, we had extra cocktails and went over the 90 minutes and it was not an issue, great service we’ll definitely go back soon!

This is a great Chicago roof top bar. Staff was great drinks were good. Prices not bad for downtown Chicago. Atmosphere was wonderful. Easy access up to the level. A must stop in if your in town on the Magnificent Mile .
