Chris and Rossel are spectacular. Friendly, charming, and very welcoming. We loved their ice cream and the loose-leaf teas were fantastic. We tried 7 empanadas and recommend the Spanish chorizo and the spinach ricotta especially. The atmosphere is whimsical, delightful- truly a remarkable place. I...especially appreciated that they made the empanadas baked instead of fried, to create a healthier option without losing any flavor.More

Be certain to stop at this creative Bistro. We had empanadas along with great coffee followed by ice cream. Empanadas were baked not fried and delicious. Coffee was great but the real treat was ice cream. Take the kids or just pig out yourself. Owners...were very nice, creative and interested in your experience. Place was clean, spotless and worth a visit time and time againMore

First of all I couldn't be happier that a place like this has moved into the neighborhood. This casual restaurant and dessert shop is perfect for an afternoon treat or light lunch. The owners are very personable and make each person feel special without overdoing...it. The empanadas are a delight. Not fried, light crust, and evenly seasoned savory tastiness inside. I tried all four offerings (more to come) and was particularly fond of the Peruvian Chicken. Spicy without overdoing it and it totally delivered on the promise of creaminess. I've been twice to this place and tried the dessert last time with the family...the banana Nutella crepe was light, well plated, and a gorgeous texture (not overly chewy like lesser crepes). The Taro cup cake and Parmesan cheese cup cake were real standouts. Those two may be my favorite dessert I've had in ages...like this is what I want on my birthday level good. Taro was fruity, creamy goodness and the Parmesan was a savory and sweet experience. Kid friendly (a whole chalk wall for the little ones), comfortable, and casual. Cafe music that's not too loud and a staff that's out to please without being pushy. I'm in love with this place and if you love international flavors you will be too.More

This was our first visit here with friends. It is a small storefront which packs a giant punch of goodness. From homemade ice cream to homemade empanadas, this place deserves 10 stars! It has a giant chalkboard lining the walls and coloring books and crayons...to keep the kiddos busy! We had the creamy coconut ice cream and it was divine. Friend had the Plain Jane (like vanilla) and that was excellent as well. Owners keep checking on you to see if you like the food...In addition, we were given a free sample of rose hip ice cream to taste. Wish there was one in Skokie! We will be back if we are in the area. Kuddos all around to this innovative restaurant!More

Warm atmosphere with personalized welcome. The simplicity and quality of both the oven empanada and the desserts guarantee the authenticity of the original and varied flavors. Do not miss a bubble tea! A MUST: roasted nuts on the spot with tropical spices [the 'charcoal nuts']...to nibble as an aperitif to whet the appetite to fully enjoy this cuisine-without borders.More
