It really upsets me to have to give this restaurant such a low rating. The food was excellent, but the service is what warranted only 2 stars. We were a party of 5 with a reservation for brunch. The server was nice and did answer our questions. However after taking our order for drinks and food, we waited.....and waited....and waited.... More

A friend from Chicago recommended Publican and it was worth the visit. The menu has a unique selection of dishes to share. Three of us got the bread plate, charcuterie plate and black back flounder (filleted by a guy with mad skill, who knew enough to send it back to the kitchen as it was undercooked). It was the perfect... More

My husband and I ate here with a group of friends on a recent trip to Chicago, and our experience was excellent. The family style dining worked great with our group, as we were able to try a large variety of things on the menu and had fun sharing our comments about what we loved most and about the flavors.... After several missed opportunities we finally had the opportunity to visit The Publican. It was well worth the wait. There were four adults in our group & fortune smiled on us when we scored one of the coveted gated booths. (Next time. I'll reserve one in advance.) The place is joyfully noisy & conversation was easier in a booth. We... More

Our servers, both cocktail and meal, were very friendly and really informed on how the drinks and food are made. We had a great meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant

This place was great, everything it was cracked up to be. Do not miss the pork skins, they are not the stale things they sell in corner store. The charcuterie was great, as was the tomato and the beet dish. Highly recommended

The food is small portions which is very good so ordered quite a few things for everyone to taste. The oysters we're out of this world amazing. Homemade horseradish D Lish. Service was exceptional. However if you are only a meat and potatoes type of person you need to skip this and just come for the delicious drinks. Drinks are... More

Everything my wife and I ordered was exceptional, but the porchetta was by far the best thing we ate. The salad with crispy pig ears and a light dressing was a great way to start the meal. The bread was amazing. We both ordered drinks, my wife's cocktail was great (I had to sample), and my beers (wheat beer)were extremely... More

My hubs and I went here just from looking up good eats in Chicago. In Savannah we don't have anything like it. The beer list is amazing. The seating was family style. And the food was unique and delish. First time I had blood sausage and it was superb. We kept ordering and ordering new things.
