Portion for each dish felt on smaller side until when we ordered 'let the kitchen decide', which consisted about 5 courses. Every dish was so delicious that we were worried that the next dish will not be as delicious as the last dish, but there was no disappointment. It was definitely worth it to save up for a special day.

We had dinner here in late October 2016 and it was delicious. We with with a larger group and opted for the chef's menu. It was fantastic. The service was great throughout the meal and there was a good choice of wines. I was pleased with the food and would certainly return with a large group or with a smaller... More

I was in town for a business meeting and the organizer reserved us the Chef's Menu for our group of 16, and it was amazing. There were 10 courses; one vegetable, three fish, three meat, and five separate desserts. The standouts for me were the Avocado Salad, Potted Rillettes, Dorade, and the Brown Sugar Pavlova. I would definitely eat here... More

My husband and I came for brunch and there was a small line before they even opened. The restaurant is beautifully designed and is reminiscent of a Prague diner. Now the good stuff. The food was phenomenal. We ordered red wine poached eggs, corn beef hash, hash browns and bacon. It was all so delicious we didn't want to leave... More

I am a foodie who visits Chicago and eats at the Publican at least once a year. For the last four or five years, including my most recent visit last week, the meal at the Publican was the high point of our Chicago experience. Delicious hearty food and great service combined with a good drinks list make for a very... More

Tried the chef menu. Basically we had no say in what showed up on our plates. Which is exactly what we wanted. Now when you have 10 different things that they bring there will be certain ones you like more than others. That was the case here. The number of the items were absolutely awesome and there were a couple... More

We went there with 5-6 colleagues while we were visiting Chicago for a conference. It is one of these places that are small, original and do not change too much with time. At least that's the impression I got. We ordered maybe a dozen different items from the menu and shared them. Everything was fresh, delicious and most of them... More

They were all very rude to my daughter, wife and me. We were there for my daughters birthday. We were not seated at our time and not aloud to go into the bar and wait.

We arrived to restaurant an hour early and asked if we could sit at bar and have a drink. We were told no (by extremely rude hostess) - that they were running right on time with reservations and did not have room for us at bar. We went next door and came back 5 minutes before reservation only to find... More
