A perfect balance between comfort and quiet simple refinement...unique fusion with very complex pleasing flavors. Great place for quiet conversation yet comfortable and friendly. We were thrilled to find a place with good food and a corkage fee that is reasonable. Consistent over three recent visits.

Exactly what we hoped it would be! Went at 2:00 end of brunch and had the whole place to ourselves. Ordered the chorizo crepe and steak huarache - amazing!!! Great Mexican food elevated is what you can expect. The sangria is great too. Chef came out at the end to say hi too - bonus!!

Try the tasting menu - you will be treated to an incredible experience. A culinary tour of Mexico in small plates.

Sat at the bar and enjoyed some great Mexican food. Small place and the food was excellent. Some different twists on Mexican.

Had higher expectations for this place, but it was pretty dull and uneventful. The restaurant is a Mexican/French fusion and the chef did his rounds during dinner service to check in with guests. Although the food was pretty looking, I found the taste to be average and not very exciting. Was also not impressed by the parchment paper on top... More

Chicago is noted for fine Mexican food (think of the Rick Bayless restaurants). Mexique is a worthy competitor. It features dishes with a Mexican heritage and French overtones. The restaurant is an unprepossessing storefront (there is no valet parking and finding a space on nearby streets can be a challenge). But once inside, the décor is modern and attractive. The... We wanted some Mexican food and found Mexique on line, although it was far from our hotel by taxi we decided to go. We found the place to be unique with a menu very different that what you expect in a Mexican Restaurant in the United States They combine French and Mexican dishes in a very tasty and different way.

My wife and I loved this place. We both went with the 6 course dinner and were pleasantly amazed by the complexity and beauty of the food. The service was fantastic. Neither one of us has a bad thing to say about Mexique!!

first, the food, outstanding! where to begin. the flavors on the pallete of the chef is as close to an artistic expression as the impressionists are to art. in my experience at good restaurants($$$$) one can spend $250.00 plus gratuity for three people, as this was our first day in Chicago we were tired and wanted something close and good,... My husband and I had reservations for a Wednesday night and this place was quite busy. The host sat us promptly, though we were 15 minutes early for our reservation! The server was fantastic... informative, offered great recommendations, and was witty to boot!! I feel terrible I do not remember his name, but- by far -the best service we have... More
