I love good food. Unfortunately this place was not good. Let me start off with the staff RUDE for know reason. Really and why are you so angry you should be happy too have customers especially now more then ever. I spent $106 for 4-...bags of food... 2 potatoes 1 corn 4 shrimp and tiny pieces for crab legs. Plenty of seasoning yuck way too salty. I luv supporting my people but NOoooooo way am I coming back here.....Sorry guys please do better, and treat your customers with respect.More
I have dined here three times and each time it keeps getting better. The service improves, the food has been consistent and the ingredients fresh. Their specialty is seafood. I recommend the king crab ,shrimp and lobster. I also enjoyed the potatoes and andouille sausage....It's no frills in its appearance but makes up for it in flavor.More
My sister and I along with her granddaughter and my daughter dined at Two Fish to celebrate our birthdays. The overall experience was excellent. When we arrived we were told that there would be at least a 30 minute wait but instead we were seated...at a table within 10 minutes. I ordered the shrimp boil and added potatoes, corn and chicken andouille sausage. This boil had the best seasoning that I have ever tasted and it smelled sooo good! The wait staff was very friendly and were very good at explaining how to put together your boil. I will dine at Two Fish again!More
Ok, I’m back in Chi , nephew sent me here. Just east of King Dr near The Historical Bronzeville area, another gem. Smaller space with butcher paper covered high and low tables, and guests suited up in bibs. I’m ready. I’m hungry, and this was...spot on. So my hunger got the best of me. The menu includes market priced boiled items :snow and king crabs, shell on shrimp, lobster and crawfish. In addition, there’s a fried basket section, of catfish, tilapia, shrimp, oysters, and lobster. Yes you heard it. Fried lobster tail. I steered clear of the “served in a bag” boiled offerings which come in 5 different flavors, and opted for fried shrimp (tender and flavorful), my sister got catfish (well seasoned steak cut), and the fried lobster tail ( a real hit, and had I known it was that juicy and light battered delicious, I could have eaten 2 and been happy. Glad I ventured into the other tastes though, cause with the sides of ala carte boiled potatoes and corn (again bagged and served in one of the butter based sauces) , I was satisfied. Fries co e with every fried basket. If an upgrade to boiled potatoes and corn were an option, it would be good. Prices are reasonable, sharing is encouraged. No liquor served but you can bring your own beer and wine. Next time, and there will be a next time, I’ll take a six pack of cold hard cider. Servers were energetic, knowledgeable and friendly, even at the end of a long day. Closed at 6 on Sunday, dark on Monday, and I believe other days closing times no later than 10pm. I could have been in Louisiana and it would not have been better! Really ....fried lobster tail? YumMore

If ever there were a restaurant with its own distinct culture, this would be it. My husband and I decided to dine at Two Fish after a friend recommended it and apparently we got lucky, because we were seated right away. A mother and daughter...who were dining at the same table informed us that the average wait on a busy night is an hour! They also gave us the scoop on ordering our seafood with the '3 the Chi Way' sauce, although we had already ordered our shrimp, crab legs and corn with the cajun and lemon pepper sauce mix. The food was delicious! The waitress placed bibs on us so we would not get our clothes messed up from all the yummy sauce. Then our food came in two large plastic bags and we were given containers and one large bucket (for trash). One thing we didn't know ahead of time was the whole BYOB option; it seemed like everybody had a bottle of wine or some other alcoholic beverage that they brought in with them. We were super grateful to the nice woman who gifted us with a bottle of red wine as a Christmas present! We have already begun recommending this place to friends and family and look forward to going here again the next time we're in Chicago. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because the heat was not on and it was very chilly in the restaurant. Otherwise, it was a wonderful dining experience!More
I had recently heard about this place, so we decided to check it out. It was right at dusk and there is very little signage so you can easily miss it. Street parking is ok, but not enough street lighting. Small and quaint. Seats around...50 people. Decor is classic rustic crab shack fisherman's wharf. Very cute. White paper on tables along with a roll of paper towels. Things will get messy. We were seated right away and the host was very welcoming. The menu is a basic 1 sheet of paper. Most items sold by the pound at market price. We had to ask the for the prices, our waitress never told us. I will get back to the waitress. We saw quite a few people order the crab, but we were afraid to take the risk. Especially for the price. I think they were $32 lb. The menu includes mostly shrimp, crab legs and lobster. Oddly enough they also had chicken wings. Maybe for those who don't like seafood. However, I would be skeptical whether they were fried in the same oil. Back to the waitress. Wish we had a different one. Terrible!!!. At least she did introduce herself. Anyway, she wasn't familiar with the menu and felt to need to tell us how much every extra item would cost. I would think that if people are willing to spend over $20 for crab legs or a lobster tail another buck or 2 wouldn't be a big deal. We ordered the fried lobster tail, fried oysters and shrimp. All come with french fries. Now check this out. The shrimp and oyster baskets come with seasoned fries and the lobster tail with plain fries. What's that about?? If we wanted the seasoned fries, it was extra. Huh?? The food was fresh and very tasty and the serving size was ok. The oysters were not gritty. That's a good thing. Shrimps were a nice size. Our water came to the table in a glass carafe, but we had plastic disposable cups. We asked for a knife and our waitress said that they didnt have any. We asked a different waiter and he brought us a plastic one. Our food came in cheap paper trays like the ones you get at the "taste". I would think that for the price we could all least get a plastic non disposable plate, basket and an actual glass or something. Even at old country buffet you can get a hard plastic place setting. The restaurant is welcome addition to the neighborhood. I wish them great success with a few improvements. I will give them a 2nd chance when in the neighborhood. Keep the host, trade out our waitress or give her more training. It would be nice to have a chalk board to show 'today's market prices.' Then people wouldn't have to ask. Special note. They close at 7 on Sundays. 2 couples came up right and they wouldn't seat them.More
They have the best seafood in a bag. The seasoning is A1 I go here every week for the love of their crawfish chicken andoullie sausage and shrimp, I like my flavor 3 the chi way and my tempo Original! The service is good the...food is excellent and they stay packed so at some point they will have to expand for space! Also prices are fair! I’m always satisfied!More
This food is sooooooo Delicious, they are In High demand and stay quite busy but each time I wait it's well worth it! I love the seafood in the bag the three the chi way seasoningis one of a kind! No other competition around can...top their seasoning flavor, OH MY! Is all I can say. They are my number one pick for my crab boil with crab legs crawfish and chicken andouille sausage I always get three the chi way original seasoning because I don't care for too much spice just a touch of spice. I often crave there food and usually I give in To my craving and pick my food up. Give them a try you will be very pleased with their food.More
I know that there are a lot of these places popping up now - because it's "In" and "Hip" but this place is hands down (in my humble opinion) the best! They have married the right combination of spices and it is absolutely delicious!!! Hi...with an appetite as you will want to finish every piece of anything in your boil bag ...LoL I have gone several times and initially there service was on to be desired, but they have gotten better and I will continue to go if they can array the perfect combination with their food and service!!!More
Had to debate between giving a 4 and a 5 rating based on extras. Stopped in to grab lunch because I had to work at the hotel while my sons were at soccer camp at the University of Chicago. It was 4PM and there were...quite a few folks eating already. I ordered my catfish to go and expected to wait a while. The folks waiting and the staff were super friendly. Turns out, my wait was about 4 minutes. When I got back to my hotel 10 minutes later, the food was still warm and the catfish was PERFECT. Not too greasy, very few bones. But I was going to give a point off because there were no utensils in the bag. I needed a fork for my potatoes and I had already made it to my room. It was a small thing, but made my experience less than perfect. I would have been okay giving the place a 95/100, but this wasn't enough to drop it from a 5 to a 4 when all I had was carry-out. Then I remembered the first thing I noticed when I walked into the place. The music was just as PERFECT as the catfish. It was R&B just loud enough to let you know that this was more than a basic spot but not so loud that it was a club. So the 5 stays. (PS - I'm filling out the rest of the form on Trip Advisor and there's no place for Soul food and I know that the catfish was good for my soul . . . though maybe not my diet.)More
When we arrived, the wait was 20 minutes. Ashley took our phone number and sent us a text when our table was ready. She also suggested that we order the "3 Chi-Way Sauce" (Garlic Butter, Cajun, and Lemon Pepper) with Jerk Sauce! But then, we...LOVE spicey! Mika, our server hooked us up with a Fried Shrimp Basket with Seasoned Fries, and Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp, Potatoes, Chicken Andouille Sausage, and Corn! It comes in a bag! When you open that bag, it smells SO good! And it tastes even better than it smells! We just found our new favorite seafood restaurant! We shall return!More
Usually a little wait(5mins) because it's a popular neighborhood eatery. Its' very casual and prices are right. The menu is limited (think crab shack), but the food is wonderful!!! Would happily OD on their fried shrimp and fries.Service is good too!! I will be back soon!
I ordered the shrimp and lobster boil. It was finger lickin good. But, the spicy sauce was a tad bit spicy for me. They took it back and de-spiced it a bit which helped. We wanted to taste the wings and they were pretty yummy...as well. My only con was that we were told the patio was only available for groups of six or more. This in my opinion is a take-a-way. Nothing beats dining al fresco on a warm summer day in Chicago with some great food, your favorite drink and a good friend. They should maybe rethink that policy.More
