Best Chinese food in Charleston Illinois!

I recently moved to Charleston, Illinois, and this was the 3rd Chinese restaurant my family & I tried in the city. QQ Buffet was BY FAR the best! Great food, clean restaurant, excellent service—all at a very reasonable price. I spoke with the chef (possibly owner or manager?) and he was awesome. Our server, Alberto, provided very attentive service—especially considering it’s a buffet restaurant. You won’t regret giving QQ Buffet a try!!

Friendly owners, consistently good food. We usually get the buffet. Our kids love it because there is a great selection of items. Clean restaurant and great service.

First of all, the buffet area, and restaurant, are clean, clean, clean! There is a variety of Asian food, plus a salad bar and a dessert bar (with ice cream sundaes, too). The food is well prepared and excellent. There are seafood dishes, beef dishes, chicken dishes, and vegetarian dishes--something for everyone. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Be wary of this place. I found a small bug in the filling on a crab rangoon. When I alerted the waitress, she said I was a fried vegetable although this vegetable had a head and an exoskeleton. We were given gift cards but I will not be returning. As we walked out the door the host said sorry and then turned to the waitress and laughed saying we found a small bean in our food. Very rude.

There are Chinese buffets all over the place. QQ's stands out. Food is plentiful and well-prepared. What makes this one stand out is the frog legs. Served hot and fresh, they make return visits mandatory. Staff is friendly and helpful.

O.K., so it's a Chinese buffet

But, the food is really very good. It cost $20.00 for two of us to eat and that included the drink. We will be back next time we're in the area.

Chinese Buffet

Has a good variety of Chinese dishes. Every thing we have eaten there has been good. The seating is very tight which is a little uncomfortable for getting back and forth to the buffet. We would eat there again.

Not much on the buffet but will eat here some. Both places are good but do like the first one a little better. Owner is a great person and the food is good for the money.

I was disappointed in the food. They are still very friendly and such but the food quality seemed to be off. It wasn't good. It took forever to bring out more food.

Great QQ

QQ is our home town Chinese buffet. Tony, the owner, is friendly and wonderful, always asking after my mom and our children. The food is standard Chinese/American fare, but good, fresh, hot and tasty. Prices are resonable, but they do not take checks. We've been here many times over the years and it's always a nice tasty meal.

My husband and I went there a few years ago and it was horrible. We had read a brochure stating what lunch and dinner items they had on their menu, and when we got there, nothing that we were looking forward to was available. Nothing that we ate was palatable. Most buffets at least have a good dessert choice, but not this one. It was a big waste of money.

The salt and pepper shrimp in the evening is very good. If you go at normal meal times the food is always fresh and they bring more out quickly. Lunch time during the week can be a little crazy with the high school kids which have not been taught to share.
