Our first time here. We came in for a Saturday lunch. Ample parking on all sides. Very friendly staff. Excellent service ( thank you Sylvia ), and delicious, hot food items. We will definitely return to try other dishes.

We stumbled across this gem after a long wait at IHOP. The food was incredible and excellent service as well. I prefer local joints over chain restaurants. I am stingy with 5 stars, but this was a nice local treat and 5 stars for sure.
I have been coming here for the last twenty years. The food is amazing, hot and did I say, delicious.
Delicious and very fresh come cooked meals that will definitely make you return. Soups are wonderful and nothing not scrumptious on the menu.
Excellent food always a pleasure you can get great polish, Lutheran and Mexican food.Nice atmosphere good waitresses. Very pleasant owner and greeter.
My aunt had passed on and officials at the St. Casimir Cemetery recommended Mabenka for the funeral luncheon. Though it was not me who coordinated the luncheon with Mabenka personnel, it was patently obviously how much Mabenka wanted our business. Dinner consisted of baked chicken,...sliced roast beef, breaded pork tenderloin, potato dumplings, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots and broccoli, chicken soup and salad - all very good, just needing a little more seasoning. The hostess was absolutely fabulous, providing pitchers of iced tea and pop and making sure everyone was served and happy. Only drawback was having to cut our get together short as there were other parties moving in to the back of the banquet room, creating a noise factor and hastening our departure. Without that, 5 stars. This place otherwise rocks for good old fashioned Polish and Lithuanian cuisine.More
My wife and I enjoy eating Lithuanian food and we have been coming to this restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed. The food and service is great every time we visit this restaurant.
I'll bypass other restaurants to go to Mabenka's when I visit southwest Chicago. Yes, they do offer Eastern European foods but their menu gives you a good offering of all types. I've been able to get a great full "American Breakfast" at noon. But my...favorite is the very fresh in-house roasted turkey. When I have a taste for something truer to my heritage I'll get the pirogi or stuffed cabbage. Moderate price, ample portions and attentive wait staff always keep the coffee cup full. Highly recommended.More
It's been too long since I've last eaten at Mabenka. Extensive menu, delicious food, very reasonably priced. I always get the Lithuanian Combination Plate -- the kugelis is unbelievable. My wife always orders the potato pancakes, and can never finish it -- so much food....Of course, we also order hot borscht, which comes with a delicious bread basket. Mabenka is the real deal. The place gets crowded and parking can be something of a pain, but the service is excellent.More
Mabenka is a Lithuanian restaurant a couple of miles south of Midway Airport. Normally we will order from the special menu, which includes a Lithuanian combo plate, duck, polish combo plate, sauerkraut soup, tripe and a whole list of favorites from my childhood. We have...never had a bad meal here, and everything we have tried has been delicious. Occasionally, on a Friday, they will have chicken livers sautéed with onions and green peppers, served over rice. There is no doubt that these are the best chicken livers I have ever tasted. They are cooked medium, not over cooked or burned. These people know how to cook chicken livers.More
Always super friendly and welcoming. The food is great, I love the barcz soup it is my favorite but they always about 10 different fresh soups daily, you can't go wrong for authentic Polish Soup. Great prices and they offer a small hall and catering...too.More
Went here with family and the orders were messed up,the food was cold and terribly bland. There are far better European restaurants out there don't waste your time or money on this one.
I was taken here by my brother who lives in the area. This was my first experience with Polish cuisine. The waitresses are eastern European and were helpful in explaining the different dishes. I ordered the "Cepelinai". A meat stuffed potato dumpling served with bacon...bits and sour cream. The plate was served with a sausage soup. Both the soup and dumplings were delicious, filling and reasonably priced. If you are in the South of Chicago area, I would highly recommend Mabenka for an out of the ordinary experience.More
Recently returning home from a wedding, we stopped at Mabenka for lunch. As usual we were greeted pleasantly and ordered from the extensive menu. There are always specials each day in addition to the many selections already offered. Both of us got the Polish plate...which consisted of stuffed cabbage, pork, sauerkraut and pierogis. Absolutely delicious!!! So much food, we both took take away boxes. Both of us having a Polish background, and having traveled in Poland, we can attest that the meal was authentic and delicious!! Wait staff is Polish and could not have been any more efficient and pleasant. YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!More
This place was delicious. I’m really happy we went here. The prices were reasonable, and most of the staff were friendly. I ordered the polish combination plate. It was a good portion for the money. They have such a large menu, it is hard to...choose what to get. I’d like to come for breakfast next time as those items looked amazing as well.More
