Noticed they make sandwiches on-site so went to this hidden gem and I will definitely be back. It reminds me of the old Bohemian deli I used to go to in Cicero. A ton of imported foods. The sandwich was incredible! I ordered the European Club and it was so big that I had to put half away for later. Even the pickle was huge! I surely hope more people can support this place. Family was very friendly. Even their deli meats are competitively priced with chain stores but you know the quality will be 100x greater here. Next time I will be getting for the whole family. Thank you and good luck!

very accommodating! have always been pleased with the variety of European cuisine! They never disappoint us. Always plesent service. Even very generous with giving away bonus chocolate bars!

This place has the best sandwiches in Bolingbrook and it's not particularly close. Fantastic selection of smoked meats as well as hot food. Staff is extremely friendly as well. Could not recommend more.

Yesterday I ordered a Reuben Sandwich from the European Deli (the place that leaves their pastries uncovered with flies flying on them). Half way through the sandwich, I find myself chewing on hair! I pulled two strands of hair from the food in my mouth. I immediately went back to the deli and showed the young girl that was working there my sandwich and asked for the money back. She apologized, gave me the money back AND said I could get a free sandwich whenever I come back. I said "I'll come back tomorrow because I have to go somewhere" she said it was fine. Today I decided I didn't want anymore food from there because I didn't want that to happen again and once before, I found some type of metal piece from something used to clean/scrub in my sandwich (I received a new sandwich afterwards). So I called the deli to ask if I could get something the same amount as the sandwich instead. The lady who I believe is the owner picked up the phone. I told her what happened yesterday and what the girl told me and asked if I could get something else the same amount as the sandwich and she said "YES." I told her I was on my way. When I get there, I grab a couple of bottles of juice and the lady/owner is being hostile and loud saying because I got my money back I can't get anything for free (that's fine) but she also goes on to say "maybe she misunderstood you!" when I asked why the young girl would offer me the free sandwich? THE GIRL WHO WORKS THERE UNDERSTOOD PERFECTLY FINE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS...
THEN she says "maybe it was melted cheese!"😑😕 (The same thing she said when I told her about the cleaning material I found in my sandwich before, until I showed her in person and she apologized, felt bad and gave me a free chocolate bar..... lol) BASICALLY CALLING ME A LIAR! I PULLED LONG BROWNISH/REDISH BLONDE HAIR FROM MY MOUTH/FOOD AND THE YOUNG GIRL SAW IT HERSELF WHICH IS WHY SHE APOLOGIZED AND OFFERED ME SOMETHING FOR FREE. I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HAIR AND CHEESE. I AM DISGUSTED AND WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS AGAIN.

This is a small location but don't let that fool you, the food is very good - and very reasonably priced! When we're going on a day trip, we like to stop by here to pick up a lunch for later. Good variety, very helpful staff. The store is a bit crowded and there are no chairs for seating, but that's just fine.

I'm sorry I didn't post this review sooner. We grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago and experienced the best of Polish food (Gene's Sausage Shop, Staropolska, Jolly Inn -got married there, etc). We've been going to European Deli for the last couple of years and they were always solid. In early May, we catered from them for a big party. THE FOOD WAS OFF THE CHARTS- AMAZING!!! Everything was delivered piping hot! We probably ordered 6 or 7 things and everything was great! The cabbage rolls (golabki) were so dense and meaty- yummmm!!!!! I could go on and on. All I have to say is we highly recommend them.

I have visited the European Deli in Bolingbrook, IL three times in the last week (August 2017), and their food does not disappoint. From their dried sausage, to awesome cheese/potato pierogis & meat pierogis, to excellent Poppy Cheesecake -- not too sweet, and not dry at all -- and to their awesome sandwiches. I have ordered the European Club twice -- Polish ham, turkey breast, bacon, chedder & swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo on white bread with a pickle. The sandwich is great, it is prepared when you order and very fast. The staff is very helpful with whatever you need, and you can customize the sandwiches to your delight as well (though they offer many different types where this usually should not be necessary).
Aside from the deli, it is a small grocery store of European condiements, bread, candy, etc. It felt as though I was walking into a small deli in Italy or Greece.

A friend recently treated me to a sandwich from this deli. Excellent. They don't skimp on the meat. The sandwich was big enough that I enjoyed half for lunch and kept the other half for lunch the following day. Plan to stop in and see the place this week, to learn what else they offer. A great lunch at a reasonable price.

Polish grocery/take-out meals/deli. Prices on deli meats & cheeses very reasonable, take-out pierogi and sausages and cabbage dishes superior. Very friendly, helpful staff.

This is mainly a Polish grocery store featuring authentic foods and sausages. The deli offers hot items such as cabbage rolls and pierogi. They have a very good selection of sandwiches as well. They do not have a dining area so everything is carry out. Love this hidden gem of a store.

I had started to fear that I would never again find a deli that makes real sandwiches, and would be condemned to never doign better than Subway or it's ilk. But then I found Szela European Deli in Bolingbrook. It's a little bit off the main drag, hiding behind a Buona restaurant, but it's worth the effort to find.
They make honest-to-god sandwiches with quality ingredients. They taste good, they're BIG, and they're inexpensive.
