We lived in Bolingbrook for a long time, and KO was always the first choice when going out for a meal. Bolingbrook is chain restaurant heaven, and we prefer chef-owned places. Walked in at 850pm and we were seated right away, not many people there. Server came to the table and the attitude came off like we were a bother, they close at 930pm. She asked us for drinks we both said water, she came back...right away and asked if we were ready to order, we weren't seated for more than 2 minutes. We told her no and she came back in like five minutes and asked again we got the feeling of hurry up and leave so we ordered. Appeitizer arrive and just placed on table like here you go the same way for the soup and salad. When the main entrees came they told us what they were, didn't ask who's was who's and just pushed them to the middle of the table, instead of putting it in front of the person who ordered it. They picked up my plate when I was finished promptly, but the other person with me was still eating, she came back with our check, no asking did you want anything else like dessert. The food was just okay. The sushi rice was really warm like it was just made not room temperature. We will not be going back.More
As an individual that is new to the area and has been to Japan many times I found this place to be a gem. I have ordered from here on multiple occasions and every time the sushi has been delicious. For a hidden sushi restaurant in a hidden strip mall, this place is awesome. Their lunch special can't be beat. The prices are low but the sushi is fresh and delicious! Portions are generous too. I had a sashimi lunch and tom yum, and it...was honestly some of the best fish I've had around, Tom Yum was delicious too. Had a great flavor and kick to it. Service was fast. Not good! Service was rude, bathrooms were stinky and the sushi was subpar! My daughter is 13 and she couldn’t order off the kids menu but saved us money in the end:)
A pleasant surprise, i had come in for a bit of sushi and found an all you can eat deal with a drink for 19.99, either nigiri, maki or their rolls. The sushi quality was very good, above average overall- had salmon, tuna and eel...nigiri sushi. The dragon roll was very good, with eel and avocado topping tempura shrimp, a good rendition of this classic. The rainbow roll was also very good. Service was friendly and at a good pace for lunch time. A really good value for money and definitely recommended for good quality sushi- not the best you will have but very satisfying and good value.More
Delicious food. Had the Godzilla Roll, Summer Roll, Spicy Scallion Roll and Sushi for 2. Lots of food and an excellent bargain. Have only done takeout so far.
Nice little place with varied menu. Had Tom Yum soup which was very fresh and tasty, and Chicago FIre roll which was OK, but wasn't crazy about it. Family night, planned dinner and a movie Saturday night. I have 3 teenagers and one doesn't eat fish. Restaurant is small but service was good. Hibachi steak was good. The Sushi and Tempura were excellent. We like spicy and were not disappointed. Only issues were...ice tea refills aren't free. Soy sauce was low sodium Kikomens. Dinner salads were small. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come back.More
Long time customers at Ko Sushi, appreciate the variety, good service (especially that servers recognize us, always make us feel welcome, even when restaurant is full so service might be slow). We ordered a large selection of sushi for take out so everyone couple try...samples of several varieties. Timely take-out time of 20-30 minutes. All prepared carefully, delicious. Pricey, but as expected for sushi. Restaurant might be easy to overlook, but definitely not one to miss.More
KO is a great place for those new to sushi and the real fanatic. Easy to find in Bolingbrook - won't have thought about it but a friend recommended it. Good service and good prices.
This was a great find! Excellent service as soon as you walk in the door. They have an all you can eat lunch special with great options. The food was very good and I will be back!
My wife & I enjoy KO a bunch. Their staff is friendly, and the sushi is always fresh and expertly made. There is also a solid menu of non-sushi items for the uninitiated!
We went early on Saturday (before 6PM), and it was busy by 7PM. We enjoyed all of our choices and the hot saki really is a treat.
