Located off the beaten path. A fun experience including testing the fermented shark. Servers are very friendly. Lamb dinner was excellent as was the charr fish meal. Cutlery is traditional and can cause issues with dental work 😉.

This was such a great experience and should be a must-do for people visiting Iceland! As vegetarians we were a bit worried what might available but it was not an issue. The food was delicious - just excellent. The owner was our waiter and all...the staff were exceptional. The restaurant has a great atmosphere.More

We had read so much regarding this restaurant that we wanted to try it during our two weeks-tour in Iceland. The place is unique, it feels really like you're back at the viking times. The food is just amazing, one of the best dinner in...Iceland thanks to the fantastic lamb! The lava cake was also delicious :) Thanks for the great evening, absolutely recommended!More

Every detail was perfect and every bite was amazing! Thought dinner might be lacking since building is so cool, but the food stands on its own! Outstanding! You must go!

I love the Viking longhouse building! The food was great (the lamb is the best that I have ever had). The staff is friendly and helpful. The food isn't exactly budget, but for the quality and experience it is definitely worth it,

Wow what an experience! I’ve never been to a restaurant like it, from the turf house it’s held in, the Viking decor, the upperclass play on Viking food, drinking out of animal horns and using Viking inspired utensils. And then we got to throw axes...like a Viking, so much fun to be had, thanks so much, this is a must do when visiting Iceland!More

What an interesting place! The longhouse was really cool with its thatched roof and authentic décor (even if the fork felt funny when you used it!). The food was amazing - I had melt-in-your-mouth beef cheek and my husband had arctic char. The cheese plate...was delicious , too, and paired well with the Icelandic herb mead . Yum! Worth the beautiful drive from Reykjavík.More

Wonderful food and all around great experience--so unique. The decor is amazing and be ready to try everything. Even my picky, jetlagged teenagers had a great time. Beautiful location, this was worth the drive from Reykjavik. It was windy so we didn't try the axe...throwing, but give it a shot!More

For any who want to feel like a viking, this is the place. Also if you want amazing food, good service, and overall superb atmosphere for your dining experience you can't go wrong here. We had the Icelandic Cheese Platter and Lamb Sirloin with a...full recommendation of both. The food was cooked to perfection and a mead with Icelandic spices to wash it down (which also came in a horn!). Afterwards, we had the chance to throw some axes which was a perfect way to end the evening. I would highly recommend Ingolfsskali Viking Restaurant to anyone in the area! Truly an unforgettable experience!More

A nice place beautiful decorated. And the food was great. We had the lamb and beef. And as a starter the viking platter. That was al really nice and prepared with care. After dinner we had a nice chat with the owner. Who is enthausiast...about what he is doing. The rest of the personal was also really nice.More

We stopped after a long day of site-seeing in the rain with our two teens. They both were thankful for the kids' menu (although be warned it's not "traditional kids' menu stuff--"fish and chips" was some baked fish and potatoes...delicious and our kids liked it,...but I don't imagine all kids would). Our teens did enjoy a starter course off the main menu, and we as adults loved our food. The ambience is definitely a draw here too...it's tucked away kind of in the middle of nowhere (as most things are in Iceland) and it feels a bit like you're walking on to a Game of Thrones set when you enter. Still, the "theme" component wasn't too overdone, and the food was great!More

Very unique restaurant, from the outside how it was built, to the decor in the inside including the shot glass in the horn. Food was fantastic

We had a fantastic meal here - we stopped by spontaneously, and were greeted with friendly service, awesome decor, and best of all, incredible food. The food here is just superbe, both in flavour and presentation. We want to come back and try the axe-throwing!
