We tried this place since we were camping nearby. Did take-out. Had a nacho appetizer one day which was large but not exceptional. We tried a fish/chip basket for supper one night and weren't impressed - too greasy and not much flavor. Think there are better places in Wallace to get good food.

Good basic food and average service. Still, the best place to eat in Wallace. Basically pub food and un-motivated waitresses who are more interested in gossiping with the locals than providing service. But still a solid place. Very different service when I am with a local. I have eaten there several times on this trip to Wallace for business. They do have a great non-alaochol beer made by guiness. Parking is bit of an issue and they are hard to find as theyare under the I90 bridge.

We visited Wallace on a Tuesday when many of the businesses were closed so we were happy to find City Limits Brew Pub open as the TA reviews were decent. I had the Strawberry Spinach Salad which was good. It was only served with 1 little dressing and it took a while to get a 2nd bit of dressing. I waited patiently with a plate of dry spinach in front of me. My husband ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with Onion Rings and a side Salad. Oddly, the salad was not served first. It came out with the Onion Rings. The Philly eventually followed and he said it tasted like pork? The menu description is brisket but we are still not sure. It was not your typical Philly cooked on a flat top. It was just a very soft and cheesy mess which he had to try and eat with a fork. Our server, Dana, explained that she was very new. She needed more training but we don’t judge that situation because every business is short handed these days. I can’t speak to any beverage options as we were never offered any. I kid you not and this is a brew pub. Another couple was seated near by and never got anything but menus and water, even though the hostess was made aware. Other tables were filled and served but this couple felt invisible. Luckily, they were great sports and laughed and left after about 30 minutes. If you eat here, take your patience, (a beverage!) and make your food selections carefully.

For seven years City Limits has been a go to. My wife and I have celebrated four anniversaries there. We take our friends there. BUT, our last visit in February was a very big disappointment. It was anniversary time again and we opted for City Limits instead of a fifty mile drive to Coeur D’Alene. It should have been a no brained since CL has never disappointed us. The beer is still awesome, but my wife’s taco salad was so over seasoned and salty it was inedible. She had to send it back and settle for a dinner salad. She gave me a bite and I almost gaged. My flat iron steak, which is usually pretty good, was also over seasoned and very salty. We should have made the trip to Coeyr D’Alene. I don’t know what’s going on in the kitchen, but it is not the same as it was. So sad.

Great food, friendly staff, homey decor. My east coast raised brother, who loves slimy (in my opinion) clams said the sliders here were the best he’s ever had. He could’ve ordered multiple portions and eaten them as his dinner! Conveniently located at the end of the RV Park we wish we would’ve had more opportunities to dine there.

We were so looking forward to eating at City Limits. Good reviews, brew pub, what could be better? We were hungry, expectations reasonable, and ready for a decent lunch experience. The inside vibe was inviting and you could tell this place serves large numbers of people...and often. We ordered the meatloaf and fish tacos. Both lunches came promptly with an ample serving of each order...maybe too fast. The second indication of an issue was that the meatloaf and gravy were the same color - chocolate brown. The proportion of grains in the meatloaf was way too much and weirdly sweet tasting, and the gravy was canned and salty. The mashed potatoes deep inside the concoction were fine, but not enough to resuscitate this dish. Fish Tacos have become a standard in many restaurants with lots of variations. Shredded white American cheese. a slab of cheddar microwaved between two tortillas, and cabbage without sauce is probably not one of the more notable or successful variations. The beer was helpful, but the wait staff was mostly inattentive. Wallace has a lot of potential. It experienced a devastating fire in 1910, and our experience at City Limits could use a thorough dousing.

There are an unusual number of good places to eat in Wallace considering its tiny size (and even more places to get a drink, strangely). This pub was highly recommended by our hotel hostess and it was worth it. It was very crowded and the noise level very very high. Decent selection of food and obviously drink, and our server was great despite having to stomp around in a medical boot (I hope her foot heals up okay!). We had the pulled chicken sandwich which was heavy on cumin but very good. The fish tacos were excellent, with quite spicy pico de gallow, lots of cabbage and the fish sticks moist and just crisp enough. The beer bratwurst was also good, very flavorful with sauerkraut and a side of high grade salsa and tortilla chips. We had the Blood Orange IPA which was nicely citrus in the onset, followed by a good pine sap bite to close. The Pulaski Porter, named after a famous local spot, was also excellent, not too bitter or heavy. It went superbly with the fish tacos. The décor is fun, with the keg lift in the center of the room, a repurposed mine lift. The exterior of the pub is interesting too: a river runs right under the foundation and the freeway goes by on one side. (Wallace ID was originally slated to be torn down to make room for the freeway but a local, Henry Magnuson, lobbied to have the entire town declared historic and won. Today it’s one of the last old west mining towns around and well worth a visit. The silver mine still functions and tours are offered, plus there is a small but well done museum of mining.)

The food here got mixed reviews from my group. Most people thought their food was fantastic and one person thought theirs was average. They were out of a couple things but not a huge issue. The drinks were fantastic! Definitely try the Huckleberry Lemon Drop, you won’t be disappointed! I appreciate that the restaurant seemed to have thinned out their tables and there was plenty of spacing. Would have loved to have seen the workers wearing masks, I was surprised they weren’t as I had seen signs in town saying masks were required in public spaces.

The food was good. I had the Fish Tacos which were three beer-battered cod with cabbage, salsa and cream cheese in corn tortillas. Large portions but I didn’t want leftovers so I ate as much as I could. The rest of my party had Reubens and said they were pretty good. They have a big selection of beers that are brewed onsite and if you can’t decide you can always get a Taster Flight. Service was fair.

Hate giving anyone this bad of a review but the hostess was incredibly rude. It’s a tourist restaurant in a tourist town. We were prepared to happily wait crazy times particularly if we can enjoy a cocktail while waiting. And all we really wanted was take out. We were unpleasantly advised there was no possible way to accommodate us. No smile, no greeting, no apology, no suggestion to try tomorrow… I 100% understand feeling overwhelmed but if you are in the business of customer service learn how to deliver bad news and offer alternative options.

We tried eating dinner here one night and there was an hour and a half wait. We opted not to wait. We returned earlier (4:30) the next day and were seated right away. We were tired and hungry after riding the Route of the Hiawatha and hiking the Pulaski Tunnel trail. Good beer. We split the pretzel with cheese and the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Both excellent. Our server was great. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food.

They were very busy but they gave us a buzzer. It worked all the way to the middle of town so we didn't have to just stand around. The food was pretty good. My Pork loin was a bit overcooked, but the kale salad was delicious. Everyone seemed to like their options. However, it is really overpriced but I'm sure it's because Wallace is a big tourist town.

We had an excellent meal. Very tasty and plenty enough. We actually were wanting to eat downtown Wallace but since it was early in the week nothing was open due to not enough employees. Lucky for us this place was open and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and home brew.

We went here to order food to go. Saw two customers leaving with bagged food just before we arrived. We were masked because of Delta surge and one in our party is immunocompromised. The front staff took one look at us and counted out nine tables waiting and said kitchen couldn’t handle any more orders. No one was waiting to be seated. We left and I called from outside and was told they could take our order! We felt discriminated against. Needless to say, we did not order to go over the phone because of this.

As one of the owners of the business I apologize for your experience with us! We have no prejudice against people wearing masks, nor do we allow our staff to discriminate for any reason. We do not have room in the door way for people to wait....so we have them wait on the patio, or in our RV Park if they are staying in it. We give people pagers to contact them if they plan to be in close proximity. We have our seating limited to the inside of the pub because of lack of staff in our kitchen, therefore we don't seat people outside or in the inside patio area. We do our to-go's two different ways depending on current wait time in the kitchen, as either we don't take to-go's or we put a wait time on the to-go depending on the wait time in the kitchen. All restaurants are currently having staffing issues, with majority of the issues being in the kitchen rather than the front of the house. The coordination between the front and the back is sometimes very difficult, so I ask people to be aware of these issues as you travel or decide to go out to eat. Thank you, Mark Burmeister

Maybe this place is as good some of the reviews say,; I’ll never no. We arrived at the restaurant around 7:00 PM only to be told by the hostess that they weren’t accepting anymore customers for the evening. When we asked if we could sit at the bar and have a drink, the answers was still no. The hostess was unfriendly, rude and apologetic, offering no reason for being unable to accommodate us. Has she just offered some explanation, been appreciative that we stopped by and suggested we make reservations in the future, we may have stopped by the next night. Go to Blackboard down the street. - friendly, accommodating and great food!
