Great position, friendly efficient service and, most importantly, excellent food. Just by the beach. Good rooms too - particularly the sea view ones.

Very nice welcome by the owner’s daughter - a family run business!! We ate special appetizers, different from the usual Greek dishes which was interesting. For main course we shared an exceptional Levraki. It was grilled to perfection. Fresh, very well prepared and excellent. The...view over Porto Kagio is beautiful!! Thank you very much to the hosts. Highly recommended.More

As a young man going to Porto Kagio on vacation was something different...and I thought it wasn’t going to be very enjoyable for me at first. Although that was before paying a visit to Akrotiri where we spent all of our 15 days there !...Apart from the delicious dishes both owners and stuff make you feel comfortable, warm and create a very friendly environment ( which is something difficult to find nowadays...) My whole family is looking forward to revisiting the place with Akrotiri being one of the main reasons why ! As a very pleased customer and a new friend... I fully recommend Akrotiri to both foreigners and Greeks. Believe me, it’s well worth a visit, you want regret it!More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel owner we were staying at (Saga in Gytheio). The food quality was first class and the prices reasonable. We shared probably the best greek salad in the whole of the Peloponnese, this was followed and accompanied...by ‘tsaety', a traditional Mani seasonal greens pie, a really good souvlaki and fried potatoes. I don't know what expectations I had for an ‘end of the road’ sort of restaurant, on a beautiful bay, near the southernmost tip of Europe, but Akrotiri really excelled.More

Our 3rd visit here. It was very windy but we went ashore in a dinghy safely. They had a few power cuts so it was quite interesting. There were 5 of us (all adults) We ordered smoked mussels (yum) and an aubergine dip (average). Then...2 steaks (€12) and ginormous! 1 pork steak -also huge, one chicken breast and one gaious(?) with garlic (€9) which was a slice of a big fish served with the potato/garlic dip.More

It was a terrible experience. I went there because of good reviews and now I believe they were all fake. Food was ok, but not more than that. Expensive and not big portions. Shrimps were 16 euros and there were 4 in a dish! Staff...was extremely rude and even charged us for complementary bread and water. Spent twice as in other good spots and still were left hungry after dinner with 2 appetizers and 2 main dishes.More

the restaurant is located just by the sea and it even offers tables in the beach. everything look very traditional yet classy for the area. Cheese was great. For main dishes we had the option to choose ourselves the fish we liked to eat. Shrimp...saganaki was very well cooked and the sauce was amazing, fresh roasted kalamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned, nothing was left in the plates. Overall one the best and cleanest places to enjoy a meal.More

We were staying for 2 nights locally, so ate at this local taverna on our second night. We were experiencing unseasonably cold and windy weather, so it wasn't viable to eat on the beach and this restaurant was dark and gloomy inside. Other guests were...dining on the terrace, which had its clear plastic sides down, so we joined them. However it was still chilly and this will have partly influenced our scoring of this taverna. For an appetiser we shared and enjoyed a spicy cheese dip with the bread we were given. For main I had fish and chips which was good, but my wife's main course was disappointing. She ordered a shrimp risotto and although the shrimps were fine, it was simply cooked risotto rice with no flavour at all, and did not appear to have been cooked with stock or anything else. She said the only thing that made the rice palatable was the dish of cheese she was offered, which she used to give the rice flavour. We noticed the next door table had a vegetable risotto (both were served in clear glass bowls) and that appeared to have frozen mixed veg through it, but again very plain and the guy who had it did not look enamoured. We were given complementary orange? cake for dessert. A decent meal, if only the chef could cook a proper well flavoured risotto! Avoid ordering.More

We came here for dinner as we were staying at Marmari paradise resort close by and the dinner we had there was really disappointing. So we said to try our look maybe in the places around and as there is not much activity around we...ended up in Porto Kagio. We had starters (Greek salad and some cheese) and also fresh fish. I cannot remember the name but it was really tasty and liked the way it was cooked, not too much in the oven. We had also a bottle of white wine, a local variety which complimented our dinner really well. All in all we had a tasty dinner and also a good and fast service. I would definitely go back to this place if we were ever in the area as it was one of the nicest dinners we had during our summer vacation this yearMore
