Coffee is good and the store is full of used books to browse. The bagels are good but not New York style. The young man working tried to accommodate as well as possible but I am guessing his dad was the owner and he is a true GRUMP. Such people should not be in the hospitality business. I want small... Stopped by once to use their wifi and had a coffee and pastry. I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, coffee and especially the scones.

The type of store you only find in small towns like Spirit Lake. The coffee is great, the food very good and the atmosphere is welcoming. A very nice place to stop and visit whether you live in the area or are just passing by.

Though they are a bit slow, their food and drinks are worth the wait. The owners are extremely friendly, they love their community! Some of my favorites are the huckleberry shake and their homemade bagels. Slow down and check out some books while you wait.

I love their baked goods. They have the best bagels I have ever had! Made fresh. And did I mention that they a huge! Homemade cookies too! I wasn't fond of their coffee though. But the bakery is definitely worth stopping for!

I pass by Spirit Lake Books & Coffee on my way to and from work and it's hard not to stop in every single time. I think I have a bagel addiction thanks to this place, I find myself craving them from time to time. I get a consistently great tasting latte every time I visit. There are also comic... More

This a quiet place that serves bagels and sand witches and has wifi. The owners are from back east NY or NJ I forget. They sell books and some times are open for church bible studies after hours. The owners are Jewish so the bagles are the real thing. It sits beside hi-way 41 on the left going north It is... More
