This restaurant was very centrally located and we appreciated the staff and the menu. Very gourmet and we enjoyed our meal. We were surprised that the lobster bisque was curried, it was pleasant but it would have been nice to have that description. The restaurant...was very echoing and noisy.More
We had lunch here (sort of) today based on the Trip Advisor #1 restaurant in Sandpoint ranking. They seemed busy and short staffed, so we cut them slack for the first 30 minutes or so that our food wasn’t arriving. Then we see food coming...out to tables that were seated well after us. I felt bad for the food server - she kept apologizing and saying it would be right out, and it still wasn’t. The third time she went to check, she said she got yelled at!! We were so annoyed by then that we said just wrap it to go, we wanted out of there. The guy who finally brought it acted SO put out and we got no apology from him. Icing on the cake: we take our to-go bag down to eat by the water. Guess what utensils he gave me for my salad - a knife and spoon. Pretty sure that was not an accident. P.S. the TBA salad was soggy and tasteless.More
Delicious food! Highly recommend this local, family-owned restaurant. The Cioppino is fabulous. I had a portobello burger with Litehouse Aged Cheddar. Messy to eat but absolutely delicious. Plate served to overflowing with French fries. Friendly service.
I had the Cioppino and it was very good with clams, muscles, and shrimp. It had a good amount of seafood and the broth was very tasty. I enjoyed it but was surprised it had no fish as cioppino is fish stew. No real complaint...but surprised. My hubby had the fish tacos and he enjoyed them but he did note that if you don’t like spicy, you wouldn’t enjoy them (lots of jalapeños). He really likes spicy, but said they were at his limit. The place is really nice and we received service that was top notch! Their menu changes throughout the day and unfortunately appetizers don’t start until 3:00. My hubby really wanted the lamb sliders..... Maybe next time!More
Plenty of restaurants in Sandpoint to not return to the same one twice in two days, but it was that good. Lunch favorites were the spinach salad with blue cheese, pumpkin seeds, apples and smoked bacon and the meatloaf sandwich. Dinner the next night with...nice cold NoLi Amber beers, lobster roll and crab cakes. Lillian was a terrific server and made the evening even better. Highly recommend Baxters On Cedar.More
We tried this restaurant for the first time and were in the mood for something other than a burger. My husband ordered the Halibut Special ($28) with a glass of Malbec ($11). I had the steak salad. The tables around us all ordered burgers and...those looked absolutely incredible, but I have to say our entres were fairly disappointing. The Halibut Special was simply a large plate with a small pile of mashed potatoes with a small portion of halibut propped up on it with some cold curry-coconut milk sauce on it and a few pices of limp broccoli. No side salad or soup, no bread for the table. My husband was pretty hungry when he finished and we stopped at the ice cream shop on our way back to the car. My steak salad came with big, tough, rare slices of steak (I asked for medium) on top of some chopped lettuce (turning brown on the edges) with no dressing that was discerable. I asked for another plate and a steak knife so I could cut up the steak as it was impossible to do so on top of the salad and I also requested dressing which was provided, but it was not what I would describe as good. The place is busy, the service was good except that our food had sat for some time before being brought to the table, Mostly, it was just very spendy for the quality and quantity. I think we'll go again, but we'll order the burgers like everyone else.More
