My wife and I were a little anxious about visiting Jimmy's. It had been featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, and often than not such places either rest on their laurels or are overrated from the start. Jimmy's did not disappoint. I had the Country...Fried Steak and Eggs, my wife the Stuffed Hashbrowns, plus a pecan roll. Obviously, none of these items is an innovative entree. But all were well-made. If there's a complaint it's that the portions are HUGE, especially the pecan roll (three-quarters of which we took home). Even with that, it's worth a stop if you're visiting CDA.More

Food was meh. I had the Jimmy's Skillet Breakfast. I could've got that anywhere in town, Denny's, IHOP. The service was terrible. We got seated at the counter, the stools were extremely uncomfortable, We asked to move when a table opened by the window and...that was good, We waited a long time for our food., Eventually, a different waitress came by our table and asked what we ordered. We told her that we had ordered the Jimmy's Breakfast Skillet. She said that the skillet had been sitting in the kitchen window for some time. It was lukewarm, at best, when she brought it to our table. Apparently, our waitress dropped our check off on the corner of our table and we didn't see her do it. I waited a while for our check and finally went to the register to inquire about our bill and she said she already dropped it off. Imagine sitting in a restaurant and the waitress slips the check onto the corner of your table without even saying a word. She never inquired how the food was or thanked us for our business, Will not go back.More

My wife and I had a great breakfast here on July 4th. We split the corned beef hash and eggs (+2 eggs on the side) and a famous pecan roll and both were delicious. My wife generally doesn’t like hash but loved it here! The...staff was friendly and the service was good too. Although there were signs that the meals were prepared from scratch and could take time to cook, our order was on our table in 5-7 minutes after we ordered it. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast with families and friends.More

We split the chicken fried steak that came with mashed potatoes, both covered in delicious gravy. It also came with cooked vegetables. It was enough for both of us. It was $14.99. We were going to get a piece of pie with ice cream but...we were full. Their pecan rolls were huge and we heard people talking about how good they were. Everyone we talked to recommended we go. We're glad we did. We highly recommend it. Pricey but tasty.More

We tried breakfast at Jimmy's since it is such an iconic restaurant in Coeur d'Alene. The venue is nice enough buy that is where things stop. The food is only average and all of the food we ate needed help. Biscuits needed to be light...and fluffy while the gravy needed to be spiced up and have a lot more sausage. Skillet breakfast was average and seemed to be missing the sausage that was supposed to be in it. If you wish to eat here to say that you have, go ahead, otherwise try another restaurant.More

My husband and I stopped here on our way to Seattle. The portions were huge and the food was delicious. I had a wonderful omelette , with perfect hash browns and toast. I was impressed that the omelette was huge but still managed to be...fluffy and cooked all of the way through. If you’re an omelette aficionado like me you’ll know that is not as easy as it sounds! We were amazed to see the pecan roll French toast my husband ordered-huge pecan rolls that had been dipped in batter and deep fried! There’s a reason this diner has people waiting to get inside on the weekends! Well worth a trip.More

Great diner that clearly support our military! The portions were quite generous and easily shareable. The pecan roll looked and smelled amazing but, too large for me to try and conquer. They have their own bakery in the back and make their baked goods in...house. The staff was friendly and so were the locals that we sat next to. Everyone was happy to engage in conversation and share other hidden gems to try or to see in the area. Recommend that if you go, go early. Smaller place (limited to 85 people) that you can tell the locals love, fills up quickly.More

I must say all the plates I saw being served the portions were huge. I wanted a salad for lunch and the chef salad was very good. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. It is a little limited on parking but there...is a large area around that block to park. I would definitely do it again.More

Today was the first time I had breakfast at Jimmy's. First of all people were waiting outside in the cold to get a table. That usually is a good sign. When I got seated I could tell that all the employees were working extremely efficiently...and with great joy and happiness. That went across the entire environment of the establishment. The food was very well prepared and the portions were very generous for the price. This is probably one of my best experience I have had in a restaurant ever. I will be going back often. Jimmy and his family are the reason it runs so well. I highly recommend going there for breakfast or lunch. Five stars are not enough to be truthful. The wait is well worth the experience.More

My wife and I went there for Valentine’s Day breakfast . I ordered chicken fried steak. Zero flavor and chewy and and dry. Very thin. They boast a veterans section. No veteran discount. Way over rated.I would say there are many breakfast place a lot...better than his in town.More
