Cute, spotlessly clean diner with exactly what you’d hope for — tasty food, generous portions and attentive service. We had corned beef hash, shrimp and grits and got a huge sweet roll to take with us. Everything was very good.

If you’re in the mood for comfort food and a hearty breakfast menu — this is your place. Located east of the busier section of Sherman Avenue downtown not far from the exits to the interstate. The venue is a vintage diner that’s been there for decades — and mostly frozen in time. You’re surrounded by artwork & memorabilia from the 1940’s — 1960’s and it feels authentic. The menu is massive and somewhat overwhelming. The biscuits should be named after small planets. My two egg omelette with sausage & cheese was good — with a side of breakfast potatoes. The service was very good — attentive, knowledgeable & friendly. Booths, small tables & vintage barstools at the counter are the primary seating. Parking is free and adequate.

nice breakfast spot with their own parking lot. Love their coffee mugs. I really liked the down home feel of the place. Another big plus for me was the 2 egg omelette choices. The hash browns were not cooked enough and the huge biscuit was cold. boohoo

Our waitress, Mya only put in 3 of our 5 orders. When she brought out the 3 meals, we asked about the other 2 and she realized she forgot. We told her we were in a rush so we didn't have time to wait for the meals. Of the 3 meals we did receive, each of them were missing an item and none of us got our toast. We asked about this and she rolled her eyes and came back with one piece of white toast that was burnt to a crisp. We asked to speak to the manager and the owner came over. He said "I won't charge you for the two meals you didn't receive" ...that was his apology! Not charging us for the meals we didn't get!? We told him our other issues and asked what he could do to help. He said, and I quote "I've been in business for over 50 years, I'm not worried about making you guys happy." Verbatim. Unbelievable! A table next to us overheard and got up and left without ordering. Terrible experience.

I had breakfast but frankly was disappointed by the food. The hash browns were akin to flavorless shredded wheat, while their signature hash was nearly minced in texture with stale potatoes. On the bright side, Ashly, my server was excellent and was the highlight of the visit. I may have hit them on an off day, being a Wednesday and I may try them again. But I hope they greatly improve.

Food was meh. I had the Jimmy's Skillet Breakfast. I could've got that anywhere in town, Denny's, IHOP.
The service was terrible. We got seated at the counter, the stools were extremely uncomfortable, We asked to move when a table opened by the window and that was good, We waited a long time for our food., Eventually, a different waitress came by our table and asked what we ordered. We told her that we had ordered the Jimmy's Breakfast Skillet. She said that the skillet had been sitting in the kitchen window for some time. It was lukewarm, at best, when she brought it to our table. Apparently, our waitress dropped our check off on the corner of our table and we didn't see her do it. I waited a while for our check and finally went to the register to inquire about our bill and she said she already dropped it off. Imagine sitting in a restaurant and the waitress slips the check onto the corner of your table without even saying a word. She never inquired how the food was or thanked us for our business, Will not go back.

Today was the first time I had breakfast at Jimmy's. First of all people were waiting outside in the cold to get a table. That usually is a good sign. When I got seated I could tell that all the employees were working extremely efficiently and with great joy and happiness. That went across the entire environment of the establishment. The food was very well prepared and the portions were very generous for the price. This is probably one of my best experience I have had in a restaurant ever. I will be going back often. Jimmy and his family are the reason it runs so well. I highly recommend going there for breakfast or lunch. Five stars are not enough to be truthful. The wait is well worth the experience.

We stopped in here on Sat for a couple of pecan rolls to go on our way back to Canada. We had seen the lady on Diners Drive Ins and Dives making them with Guy and we said if we ever get to Coer d alene we need stop in and get some. When we got there they were not out of the oven but Jimmy thought he had two left, which we took and were on our way. When we started eating them they were extremely dry and not a lot of pecans, caramel sauce or filling inside the rolls. They were probably the day befores baking and not very enjoyable considering they were $6.00 US each. I would go back to try the breakfasts but the rolls were a hard pass again if we are to return to the diner.

My husband loves this place, even he was disappointed during this visit. Who serves stale corn bread under eggs Benedict, with over cook eggs and cold hollandaise. The corned beef was soooo salty it took several glasses of water to flush it down. My husbands omelet was well, not an omelet at all, it was eggs topped with minced ham and cheese. The waitress was fun and attentive, she offer a free cinnamon roll because of the crappy food. We said no, and let "Jimmy" know what we thought on our way out. Absolutely NO social distancing here! There are soooo many good places for breakfast, skip this one.

My wife and I had a great breakfast here on July 4th. We split the corned beef hash and eggs (+2 eggs on the side) and a famous pecan roll and both were delicious. My wife generally doesn’t like hash but loved it here! The staff was friendly and the service was good too. Although there were signs that the meals were prepared from scratch and could take time to cook, our order was on our table in 5-7 minutes after we ordered it. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast with families and friends.

We split the chicken fried steak that came with mashed potatoes, both covered in delicious gravy. It also came with cooked vegetables.
It was enough for both of us. It was $14.99. We were going to get a piece of pie with ice cream but we were full.
Their pecan rolls were huge and we heard people talking about how good they were.
Everyone we talked to recommended we go. We're glad we did.
We highly recommend it.
Pricey but tasty.

Checked out on web looked like fun. Saturday morning, good crowd excellent service. Corn beef hash lacked onion and potatoes, just meat. Biscuits are a challenge. Bothered by flies, no fun in the morning.
Overall, ok, a little pricey.

This was our first time eating here and boy were we extremely satisfied with the service, food and ambiance. The breakfast entrees are delicious and they’ve got several customer/local favorites that are definitely worth ordering. The pecan rolls and cinnamon rolls are huge and definitely worth ordering as well. Highly recommend this place!

The best place to have a meal in North Idaho. New ownership is actually the old owner who reacquired the restaurant. Food is better than ever. Tender chicken fried steak made from scratch every day. The waitresses that work at this restaurant are the friendliest most accommodating one can fine.
Our waitress Karla was the friendliest ever.
