Authentic German food

CdA, we have a new restaurant in town! The Bier Haus serves up delicious schnitzel, spaetzle, red cabbage, all types of wursts, and to top it off a great selection of beers on tap. Come hungry. Willkommen to a great new place.

I didnt love this place nor their food.

My husband enjoyed his brat and knockwurst. I was underwhelmed with my schnitzel dinner. The German potato salad was like none I’ve ever tasted nor made. It was essentially red potatoes quartered and cooked with some sort of sweetener. Not an acidic or vinegar taste at all. The red and white kraut as great. The schnitzel was very dry. There was a small cup of something that looked like oil and the server said he didnt know what it was nor how to use it although it might be German butter. Well, that was no help so I asked what the small amount of some kind of berry preserves was and again, he had no idea so I dipped the meat into that to make it palatable but still couldnt finish it because of it’s lack of character. Not a good use of the calories.

Excellent German Fare...

This place is the real deal. Not overly Americanized, fair prices and large portions. The location is prime, and the inside is very warm and inviting yet not overtly German. Our hostess and server was an absolute sweetie, and she was to all the customers dining while we were there. Everything is house made, down to their mustard options. Delicious. They have a nice biergarten that will be awesome in the warmer months. And I have no problem stating the food was better than anything we've had in the tourist mecca of Leavenworth WA over the decades. Only German restaurant in North Idaho, and only the second in the entire Spokane/Cd'A metro). Prost...!

Slow service WURST food

The server was very nice, but extremely slow. Almost to the point we got up and left before she came back to our table. Once food and drinks were ordered (all at once due to the 30ish minute wait before coming back) it was an addition 30 to 45 minutes before the food came out. We ordered a total of 6 wurst and a Jagersnitzel. The wurst looked and tasted as if they had been burnt and left on the bottom of the grill. The Jager had a good breading, but the sauce was watery and lacked mushrooms. Saurkuart was out of a jar and the potatoe salad wasn't to any of our likings. Fries all though thin (shoe string) were pretty good. Beer was good also. Overall I would not return to this location unless it was just for beer and even then the service was so slow that I don't know that a beer is even worth a return visit.

Wursts und bier

Wursts und bier Visited with family and enjoyed a plate of two bratwursts which included a single salty roll. They were out of weisswurst and knackwurst. True to form. Enjoyed a helles beer. The heffe and Weihenstephaner beers choices were also out. The pretzel was unusually soft and not chewy at all. Good service.

gross, undercooked, unseasoned,expensive garbage!

Service was good, food not so much. Under seasoned, under cooked. Not very fresh tasting. Fried pork was raw, potato salad had raw potatoes. mushroom gravy was flavorless with canned mushy mushrooms. People that say this tasted authentic must be hitting those beers a little hard cause this place was straight up nasty!

Such a cool experience! We played in a local golf tournament this summer and won a raffle for a private party for up to 15 people! It was catered with AMAZING food, DELICIOUS beer and hosted by the BEST crew! The pretzels are honestly hands down the best! Schnitzel/Jagerschnitzel so so good, the spaetzle, the fries, brats, wings—you really can’t go wrong! Worked with Brent on planning all the details of the night and it turned out wonderful. We lucked out with beautiful fall weather but they also had the heaters in the back patio, music, lights and of course just having the privacy area for our crew was so nice. The best atmosphere! Thank you again to Ben Widmyer for donating the package to the Lake City golf tournament, to Brent for planning the evening, Jesse our right hand man to bring all the things and Bryan the cook for the awesome experience, we will definitely be back!

German atmosphere but the food is not German

Friendly restaurant, however the food is NOT traditional food. The flavors are all wrong. The cook tried to be creative with the flavors, however it takes away from what German food is suppose to taste like, which is sad.

Wursts und Bier

We went for lunch. The menu is somewhat limited, but fit perfectly what we were looking for. We shared an order of currywurst, bratwurst, weisswurst and potato salad. The wursts were 100% authentic - exactly as you would get in Germany. We sat in the small biergarten and it was very comfortable (and typical). The service was fast and friendly...and of course...they served several varieties of German Bier.

Good beer and brats

Walking around downtown and happened to find a parking spot. Dropped in and were able to get seated immediately. Live music on a Wed night was a nice bonus. Immediately had service. Since I’m not good at knowing my beers, asked if they can do samples before I commit and they are—little shots to let you make a good choice which was a really nice option. Had the wurst plate (2 sausages and a side). Chose the brat and kase with spaetzle. All were really good—especially the different mustards to choose from.

Good German Style Food

We had an enjoyable German style lunch here early in the afternoon. The food was good, definitely hardy, and the atmosphere was simple and pleasant. Both our server and the cook were friendly in interacting with us, and made good recommendations. We will go here again in the future.

Great German Food & Drink

Dined here on a weekday evening and was not disappointed. Started off with a draft Weihenstephaner Original. Had the Schnitzel with Sauerkraut and Käsespätzle, finished off with Apple Strudel. The food was good & the strudel was a treat! The server was friendly and pleasant. Great place for a German experience. Worth a stop just for the draft German beers.

Authentic German food and beer!

Excellent experience! German beer on tap was soooo good! We didn’t get the liter boot but others there had gotten it. However I see now why. It is not the filling sort of beer, Schnitzel was cooked perfectly, crisp! Reuben sandwich was awesome. Spaetzel was the best I have ever had. Warm German potato salad was soooo good! Location couldn’t be better, right on Sherman street. We had a table looking out the window. Friendly and helpful waiter. Perfect!

Decent first visit

We checked out Bier Haus for the first time the other day. Had schnitzel and wurst and shared a cup of soup. Good selection of beers none of which I could pronounce properly. Service was very good. Portion sizes generous.
