Small restaurant with awesome food. Probably the best in Boise. It's not in the heart of downtown. You have to know about it to go there. Although, I understand they are moving to a new hotel downtown. I hope it doesn't change much. The food is so unique, the servers are professionals, the atmosphere is great. You get what you... Chef Richard really loves to create food that is both pleasing to the pallet and the eye. The restaurant is small which adds to the charm and atmosphere(hope he keeps it that way)makes you feel like you are in an intimate European cafe. Nice wine list with some good local wines. Always feel like I had a great meal for... More

I live in Boise, so I can tell you that this is the best Restaurant in Boise. If you want delicious meals, excellently prepared, great service, and a wine list that's fairly priced, go here.

Went with a reservation for 7 PM, arrived early at 6:45. Sat immediately at a long bench table, not our favorite type of seating but at least the tables are nicely separated. There are some separate tables and outdoor patio seating. Water arrived, ordered a glass of red ($9, least expensive on the list) and a plate of fresh bread... More

If it's the best food you are looking for, search no longer. Richard's reputation precedes this restaurant. A professional wait staff informs you of delicacies not listed and can serve you wine but not liquor. The menu is not long, but it's choices are excellently prepared. You might have the best meal ever.

Any Northender foodie can tell you that Cafe Vicino is a great local restaurant. Tiny place serving fresh, seasonal Italian and Pacific Northwest fare. I had my first fresh Sockeye of the year last night, and it was amazing! Served over a bed of creamed leeks and turnips. Turnips, for me, have always been kind of Meh, but these fresh... More

This was our first visit to Café Vicino. We made the reservations for Mother's Day after we had attended a great class with the owner/chef, Richard Langston. Richard and his wife Melinda hosted the class at the Boise Co-Op's new location in Meridian Village. We watched as he prepared delectable dish after delectable dish, paired with wines for each. It... Everything is usually very good but they have a small menu. My main complaint is the size of the salads. I love the Arugula Salad- Warm goat cheese-stuffed piquillo pepper, arugula, marcona almonds, orange segments, sherry vinaigrette. Hmm my salad had regular almonds on it, the pepper may have had a little goat cheese but it was mixed with something... More

I though it was verpriced for what was served. I had an Italian dish called cannoli. You have to order side fingerling potatoes, fried brocolli, spinach were a few of the items available. They served bread which is appeared to be about 5 inches in length or about 1/2 of a small Mexican roll. We had the orange tart which... More
