Went to Richard's (formerly Richard's Cafe Vicino) last night for the second time since they moved into their larger, downtown location. As usual, the food was excellent, the wine list very nice...however, with the larger space came the need to hire more/new staff. I'm not sure whether it is that the staff needs more training, whether they need more help... More

A hidden gem in Boise. Great place for an occasional taste of something different to please your palette. Great selection of wines too. A little pricy but a great experience.

One of our favorites in the Boise area with great atmosphere, so we went for dinner on our anniversary! Especially since we have recently learned that they are moving soon to a new location in one of the new hotels soon to be opened. We were not disappointed. The food and the friendly service were just like old times, and... More

By all means make a reso and visit Cafe Vicino. Truly a gem in the Boise area, the food is creative, beautifully presented and provided in a cozy atmosphere. Wonderful place for an intimate dinner for two up to six. Nice wine list, very good service.

A tiny, off the beaten path restaurant located in the complex of the Boise Co-op. The scallop appetizer is an absolute must. You can also order more than one and turn this into your meal. Beet risotto was interesting and very good. A little pricey (sandwiches range from $11-15) but worth checking out.

I was attracted by great reviews but I cannot support the five star rating. The place is definitely cozy, service is polite and friendly but the food in my opinion is not matching five star restaurant. It is also a bit overpriced for the quality of food. The beet green salad was good. I had home made spaghetti with calamari.... More

Another wonderful meal at Vicino! To start, we had the newly added and delicious negroni sbagliato, that is unique to Vicino but not made with Campari as the "negroni" name might suggest, but an inventive and refreshing take on the classic champagne cocktail. Then on to the appetizer special of plump mussels in a rich heirloom tomato broth that had... More

Small restaurant with awesome food. Probably the best in Boise. It's not in the heart of downtown. You have to know about it to go there. Although, I understand they are moving to a new hotel downtown. I hope it doesn't change much. The food is so unique, the servers are professionals, the atmosphere is great. You get what you... Chef Richard really loves to create food that is both pleasing to the pallet and the eye. The restaurant is small which adds to the charm and atmosphere(hope he keeps it that way)makes you feel like you are in an intimate European cafe. Nice wine list with some good local wines. Always feel like I had a great meal for... More

Always great service and delicious meals that use what is in season. Dessert is always the best part- with great coffee to accompany- this place knows what's up
