The food was great and they had one entire side of the menu dedicated to listing the vegan options that were available. They had all the standard dishes you would expect to see on an Indian food menu, they just went to the extent of labeling them as vegan, if they were. That was really helpful and the food was... My family and I often go to Taj for dinner. We have been their loyal customers for 10 yrs!!! We love the atmosphere, the owner, and of course the food. Our favorite is the mango lassi (u have to try it once....I have been around the world even in India they don't make mango lassi this good), chicken makhni, lamb... More

I just love this place. The owners are kind and likely to greet you at the door with hospitality. The high quality dishes keep me coming back. The samosas are flavorful and not greasy at all; I love the vegetarian choices and the buffet for lunch is an excellent example of all the flavors you can imagine. I think it's... More

Taj Mahal is a regular lunch spot for me. The food is authentic and very good. Some dishes are extra spicy and chef is often in the dining room greeting people and letting them know of the extra heat on some dishes. The buffet is great because you can select the dishes you like from a very extensive offering. There... More

If you like spicy, mushy food, come here. They do a great job preparing good dishes that are delicious.

Loud Tvs playing Bollywood music, strong curry smell, slow service, substandard Indian food, sounds like most Indian/Pakistani restaurants in US? Well this one is definitely not one of those. Decor; very warm with rich red colored walls with exotic Indian artifacts. Service; very humble and down to earth. The owner himself comes to check on things, which was a very... More

Went to Taj Mahal after being away for 6 months or so, and something fundamental has changed. First, the service was very poor. 55 minutes from ordering to getting our first serving, that's not acceptable. Secondly, the presentation and portions have drastically changed. Orders used to come in moderate sized metal Indian pots, which made sampling 2-3 items easy. Now... More

Went to the Taj Mahal restaurant for lunch alongwith family. We had read a lot of reviews about this restaurant and having visited a few other Indian restaurants were hoping for a better experience of Indian Food. The restaurant has a nice ambience although a bit dark interiors , yet tastefully decorated with Indian antiques and decorations. The food is... More

I've been there with friends, family, and people from India. It's universally loved by all who have been there. Usually I don't care for buffets, but their lunch buffet is outstanding, as is everything on the menu. It can be made as mild or spicy as you'd like. Only Indian food I've ever had that was as good was by... More

Myself and my boyfriend visited whilst staying in Boise on holiday. I had the chicken korma, he had the lamb rogan josh. We both agreed the food was fantastic. Selection of beers and drinks was also great and the staff / owners were great. We ended up chatting for most of our visit! Would definitely recommend.

Family style, made from scratch Indian and Pakistani cuisine. The Best in Boise and the Northwest. Everything is prepared by one chef. That chef happens to be my Mother You can expect an extensive beer selection with micro-brews, IPA"s, Porters, and international favorite. Over 40 to choose from at any given day. You can expect food made from scratch to your liking, and entree's you won't find at your typical curry in a can Indian Diner. Expect spices to be cooked right when you order them, an extensive Vegan and Vegetarian selection. Expect a good time at an amazing location in the heart of Downtown Boise with an owner operated business. We have a lunch buffet everyday that allows for a quick lunch. If you're coming in for dinner, we hope you're not in a rush, our beers and wines are here for you to relax because the cost of home-style food is a bit longer wait time. The freshness and flavors of our dinner are meant to be savored and explored. We look forward to your visit!
