Gyoza, steak rice bowls were both delicious!!! Looking forward to returning and trying some other dishes as well.

I ordered the Yokozuna combo with sugar daddy roll. I liked both. Rating this against other restaurants is tricky. Versus sit down restaurants it would just be average. Against fast food is how I rated it here. I liked the flavor of the teriyaki sauce, but next time I will ask for an extra container of it. Worth giving them a try.

We visit both locations, and we enjoy the teriyaki here more than we do other places in town, hands down. The Vista location gets very crowded at times, but the wait is never intolerable. Good sized portions at a decent price.

Went here for lunch ordered chicken teriyaki rice bowl and it was pretty good. They had chopsticks available. High in flavor and cooked to perfection. I rated this place down because hippy dreads should require a hair net waitress didn't seem very sanitary. The place is well maintained and very clean I might come here again. There is outdoor seating and tables available

We enjoy the rice bowls, but although they are tasty they are not very filling. The bill can add up quickly here.

Not the usual teriyaki bowl fast food place, they have the best kalbi style short ribs in town. The ribs are tender, very tasty with a slightly spicy kalbi sauce and never overcooked. Plan to get a little messy eating these; you must use your fingers! They are served over a bed of rice and some steamed veggies. If I had to criticize something, it would be to ask for a few more of the veggies.

Nothing fancy here, but good value food, and they have terrific teriyaki and one of my favorites—bubble tea—in about a zillion flavors.

Went to the Vista Ave a lot it was good. Went to Meridian 3 times...it is out. First time was good, last two were HORRIBLE. Vista was just barely okay a couple of weeks ago. So no longer a place for me to have lunch.
This is an example of who is doing the managing? the prep? Cooking? Cleaning? Sad to see a GOOD little quick Japanese restaurant turn into a cluttered, dirty uncaring food preparation building.

This little spot in the Vista Village was a very pleasant surprise! The service was great! The food Spectacular! The noodle dish was bursting with flavor. My husband had a teriyaki chicken and pork dish he absolutely loved and raved on for hours. You will enjoy this delishious quaint restaurant!

Hole-in-the-wall location that is usually filled to the brim at lunch time, though the service is pretty fast. The fare is good, not excellent but quite filling and delicious. Service more than compensates for the shabby decor.

My wife daughter and I enjoyed our stop here. I has the curry chicken katsu, my wife had peanut veggie Thai noodle dish and our daughter had a teriyaki bowl.
The meals were good, and not too expensive, but not a $5 meal either.
I lived in Japan for a few years and this was pretty good stuff in comparison, not great, but good. I ate curry chicken katsu many times while in Japan, and the curry with veggies from Yokozuna Teriyaki was quite good, the spiciness was maybe 4/10. The chicken katsu however was overcooked and quite dry. All in all the curry topping saved the day but did not warrant a 5-star review.
My wife and daughter both reported loving their food.
The store was just a tiny slot in a strip-mall, there was no atmosphere to speak of, but the gal behind the counter offered a chance to sample the curry before I bought, and that was nice. There are only a few other people in there while we were there, it wasn't at all busy. We were there in the mid-evening, maybe 7pm.
I was surprised to hear when I asked about the curry that "it was just about gone." That is, when it's gone, it's gone. I got the last or maybe second to last helping.
It was good, and I believe we would choose to go back sometime when we are in the area again, but it was bot IMO a meal to die for.
All in all strong 4/5 stars.

Terrific food, and a popular neighborhood lunchtime spot, but Yokozuna suffers from its location -- a cramped, hole-in-the-wall where the dining tables are interspersed among the line of customers waiting to be served at the front counter. The front door slams violently, the TV set is usually blaring, and thus the dining experience suffers from some really simple, fixable issues. Ought to be an easy fix to expand this restaurant into something more pleasant and welcoming, as Mazah has proven when it expanded its restaurant at 16th and State into a more conducive atmosphere for eating really good food.

I have never tried Japanese cuisine, I ordered the menu item with pork, chicken, and shrimp and it was more than I expected for the money and delicious!

We come here all the time. Beats all the chain Asian-like restaurants by a mile. Love their chicken or steak Teriaki. Big portions so sometimes I just get the kid's size for me.

I went for lunch and was surprised. The chicken teriyaki bowl was very good and came with fresh vegetables and brown rice. The bubble tea was very good. There were a ton of flavors to choose from and the pineapple was fantastic. Awesome for a cold creamy treat!
