We came on a Thursday evening during downtown restaurant week and took advantage of the special menu. We had to ask for the restaurant week special menu; it should be presented with the other menus when we are seated. The restaurant week menu is nearly...identical to the fixed price menu offered everyday. The only difference is the addition of the 6oz filet mignon as an entree option. The price is $50pp. (I reviewed this same special in 2017 and the price then was $35.) We had cocktails which were very good. The server was attentive but not the most knowledgeable (I knew things about the offerings that she didn't). People seated at the next table were served amuse bouche but we were not. The lobster bisque was spectacular as usual. I ordered the filet mignon because of the special. The filet was perfectly cooked but I was somewhat disappointed with the presentation (see photo); the plate looked a bit sad. Others at our table reported that their entrees were good. Desserts were wonderful. We visit Chandlers once every couple of months for birthdays, holidays, entertaining out-of-town visitors, etc., but this visit was a little disappointing. Are they paying less attention to fixed price menu items? Were they too busy on this Thursday night? We will probably skip Chandlers during restaurant week next year. For now, we will continue to visit on other occasions.More

Everything was top notch ! From the moment we were seated - Sloan our server was terrific (speaking as 2 people who have done this in the past) Every bite was just as good as the last. We started with the wild abalone appetizer, abalone...is rarely on menus anymore in our experience, followed by the spinach/strawberry salad, my husband ordered the salmon & I, the ahi - we were impressed how delicious everything was - best meal overall we have shared in a very long time !! We enjoyed the soft music from the 2 musicians in the bar area. We are fortunate to dine at top restaurants - this evening was outstanding - we'll definitely return on our next trip to Boise.More

We dropped at chandler’s for dinner on the trip returning home at Seattle from Yellowstone trip. We did not have reservation but got fortunate for a table. The dining experience was amazing! The servers were very attentive but not intrusive at all. Best experience in...the last several years, beating our $500 dinner at big island. Food, wine and scotch were wonderful. We ordered merlot, Oban, mixed oyster, ribeye, Ali, king salmon and two desserts. I could not expect better. The only regret was that we were a bit undressed. Total cost was $360 for 2 adults and a teenager, including tip. Quite reasonable for the amazing experience. Wow, we will definitely come back next step visiting Boise.More

This was the vest meal we had in Boise. We sat at the bar and talked with Ryan. We told him how we like our steak and he recommended the best local cut of beef. It was one of the best steaks ever. The service...was amazing also. This is a not to be missed experience.More

We were visiting Boise and looking for a seafood restaurant. Chandlers Steak and Seafood came highly recommended. It was a Friday evening and we had no reservation. We could not be seated in the dining area so we opted for a table in the bar....We had Oysters Rockefeller for a starter. Tender, mild, and juicy! For the main entree, we had the daily fish special which was baked halibut over mashed and fingerling potatoes with a side of asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the live jazz very much.More

I was with 3 other business colleagues but we were here as friends. We are from different cities and all of them have many excellent dining options. That said, I loved my filet, two of us loved the halibut special and I can’t remember what...Greg had but we all commented on how delicious everything was. Excellent professional service. Also, I’m not a fan of goat cheese, but the cheesecake with goat cheese was in the top 10 of my best dessert list. Just a small goat cheese aftertaste. Chandlers is not cheap but worth it.More

Everything was great. Alex was our server and she was wonderful, attentive and made great recommendations. One of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife loved the block cod. Lobster bisque could be improved, we have had better at many steak houses, it...was still very good and was really the only thing I could think of that could use improvement. The seasonal mushroom soup was great. We liked it so much we cancelled reservations we had at another place to come back again before we left Boise.More

I was looking very much forward visiting this place after reading all reviews. I ordered a Wagyu Ribeye medium rare. When the meat was served I had a bite and it was not even worn but cold. I touched it with my fingers. The whole...piece was cold. After I reported that back, I was asked if they should heat it up. I was hesitant as I was worried that then the sides would get cold in the meantime. So I as reassured I get a hot piece of meat and new sides. What I got back was a charcoaled piece of meat and soggy frites (for sure the original frites which spend a few minutes under a heat lamp). Asked on how it was, I gave a sincere answer: charcoaled meat and soggy fries. The maître (or whoever it was) walked away while I was giving an honest feedback. Shocking. But on a positive note: the salad I got as side was nice.More

The wait staff is the highlight of the restaurant, We have dined there several times, never to be dissatisfied about anything until tonight. I ordered the Cioppino. It’s fume was likened to Campbells tomato soup. Not a fume of seafood. It came in a small,...round vessel. The largest pieces of food in it were two pieces of toasted, or grilled sourdough bread. Otherwise, the clams in the shell mind you were approximately about one inch in size. I had no idea it was legal to harvest shellfish that simall as I had never in my life seen them that size. It was by far the worst prepared cioppino I have ever seen, or tasted in my life. Please Chandlers take this dish off of the menu. It’s just not good. It’s not a cioppino by any means, or standard.More

We made a reservations asking for a table/booth in the main dining room. When we arrive we and our out-of-town guest were seated in the smallest dining room. That we could have lived with if the service had been OK. The wait person is obviously...new (and I do understand that wait staff is hard to find these days). We have always been so impressed with the wait staff in the main dining area. Two people had cocktails and one had a glass of wine — and we informed the wait person that we would be ordering a bottle of wine. I ordered a new york steak. I mentioned that I wanted it med-well and more on the well side than med. The steak came and looked like a piece of charcoal. It was burnt to a crisp and hard. Half way thru our meal a manager came to our table and asked if everything was OK and I informed him that we had mentioned that we wanted a bottle of wine but no-one had come to secure the wine order. We finally got our wine when we were almost finished with our steaks. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert and you have definitely gone to a cheaper source for the desserts — or this one was just old. Must say for $400 plus, I wish we had gone elsewhere or stayed home. Linda Strauss 805-455-3179More
